I could keep going but it would be redundant and require me to name literally almost every member in this community. The only reason people don’t see RP’s is because they expect something big and unique to be a RP, when in reality a good cop or shop RP can be an excellent experience if effort is put into it. The issue isn’t that there aren’t people with good RP’s, it’s a problem of most people don’t put effort into acknowledging those RP’s and joining them.

So how can we improve the population? Other than Host roleplays? they're must be something we can do to attract even old players who have good RP knowledge back to the server, Personally i think the map plays a huge role im not sure about Evo some people like it some people dont, But i feel like we never had any pop issues when we were on Rockford, now im not saying that the map is the main problem but i think it has a small effect on the map/player interactions

I still think the solution is promoting more services like minigames, movie nights, and player and staff ran competitions where there is an incentive for players to host them here other than participants.
Still think content is a major issue and although its something that's being worked on, it's slow. Although stuff like accessories and suits has been wanted for a very, very long time and adds alot of customization, i think we're good for aesthetics now other than maybe some new female models. There's a few good update I'd like to see that require little effort and add quite alot of fun but it's hard to get through the various processes to get it live
Especially with such a small volunteer dev team

Weren't they demoted? Do you really think bringing back someone who couldn't follow staff guidelines is a key person to bring back?

You were also demoted, yet you were brought back onto the team.

What's your point?

What? I never said he was, nor did I say he was brought back as staff. The OP was simply to bring back Joley onto the team, there was no mention of a staff rank.
well this is awkward *cough*

It was most certainly implied by the argument Smile

Joley is a cool dude and I’d consider myself a cool dude, but we both got demoted for appropriate reasons.
As one of the admins at the time who were quite involved with the cases that led up to Joley's demotion, without going into much detail and hopefully not causing any upset on the side of Joley, there were many cases and incidents that were factored into it. What was referred to by Zaid a few posts ago was not the only incident that was taken into account. Regardless, what GG says holds true. Joley's a pretty cool person but was demoted for appropriate reasons.
Honestly my opinion is that people who want to go on a server to find good quality "CityRP" will go else where now. What is the point in someone spending hours and hours of effort on an RP just for it to go tits up when someone either a. ruins it or b. the rp quality is so bad there was no point in doing it in the first place. This is why people who have those skills go to other places like FL because in my experience the RP quality on there is much better now
When I first joined I was really excited, there were loads of passive roleplays, organised fire departments and police departments, people who RP'ed their characters to the full extent, a lot of opportunities to just make something like a store and people would come in and browse, that's what people want when they join a CityRP, they are looking for something else than DarkRP.

There were server events which people enjoyed and participated in, I remember the first RP scenario I fully got involved in, some fire and gasleak and I was the only paramedic at the scene.

However within a few months, certain groups kept doing the same criminal roleplays, which is okay, but it really gives off a bad impression, I don't want to be mugged or shot at and killed everytime I walk around the corner. I mean they did it to new players too, the first impression they got when they joined a cityRP server was being mugged or held up, not something passive.

I don't imagine we can do anything about it, they joined at a bad time, but if we really emphasize on passiveRPs people who join will actually think, "oh so people actually roleplay on here, not just drive around and do stupid shit"

I dont know, some people dont mind that being there first RP, My first ever tiem joining limelight i loaded in and got mugged within the first 10 minutes, and i thought it was pretty Cool and fun just roleplaying the scenerio
I mean, let’s face it: the community is fuckin toxic. I’d say that’s one of the reasons why and RP is just shit here now

I wouldn't say "shit". Maybe some more experienced and good roleplayers on the server left and there's less quality roleplayers at the moment, however I think there's still some pretty good RPs on the server daily. At this point I feel like everyone's just sharing their biased opinion based on what they've been told from others, without actually witnessing the situation themselves. We do have some really dedicated roleplayers and good rps on the daily basis, you can't say otherwise unless you actually log in and see for yourself. There's many factors as to why the population is so low, but I'm sure it's not cause the community is "toxic" and "low quality rp". This is not personally directed towards you, I'm just talking in general about everyone inactive saying there's no good RPs going on.
