It’s such a bad idea though. One group players during one week. The other group plays during the other week. Or everyone plays on one map and the other is used for contrawhoring. Might as well just make another server if you do that
What're you talking about? We'd play on both maps lmao. We've been stuck on Rockford, are you going to say you'd refrain from playing on the runner-up map because you no likey?

Well, yes that’s quite obvious. If one party doesn’t enjoy playing on a map, why play on it? If you won’t enjoy it, it deters you. Sure you can play on it because your friends are on it, but your activity will slowly decline. Pick Rockford or V5P. Not both.
So how about everyone that prefers V5P just stops playing?

Seems a bit selfish to even suggest that
Honestly I would be much happier with a map that cycled. Every other day the map changes - could offer some interesting update potential linking the two maps (i.e farmer job only being available on rockford, woodcutting being available on evocity etc..)

I mean all spawn points and dupes and such are already there for both maps (unless evo changed to v5p) - would add more variety to the map.

Not really stop al together but over time yes. Don’t really see how it is selfish tbh. I would just rather you choose a map over two. One of them is going to be popular over the other. Just pick.

okay i guess we'll pick evocity then, since it has a clear majority (much more than 50%, which was kinda stupid to split the community right down the middle like that) in this poll

If that’s that choice, then make it happen. I don’t agree with it, but if the majority wants it, set it up.
As said in discussion thread. for this 'movement' to have more clout, proper data is needed.

If you guys can get unbiased data on optimisation, that alone may have a lot of clout in the argument. That is essentially THE major issue effecting us at the moment. If changing map may allow a few FPS better performance, more props to be placed etc, then that alone is a very, very large factor...especially considering it was essentially the driving factor for the initial change to rockford..

Again, if we allowed a map rotation for a few weeks, we'd be able to gather data about which maps the playerbase prefers based upon length of time playing, player numbers etc.

It's clear there's a shift in players wanting the map to change, and it is being listened to, but this happens after a few months of every map change. I would further agree upon using the community vote feature in game - it doesn't hurt, especially if the vote is advisory and not binding....BREXIT
Do people realise, no matter which map or how perfect it may be, after playing on it for 2-3 months anyone would get bored of them and would want to change to something else.

I played evocity for 2 years and rarely got bored for more than 5 minutes

Rockford took me about a week to get bored

Problem is, is that doesn't really reflect the playerbase. If it's cycled then it's not choosing one over the other, it's about the players experience on said map. (if they play for longer, then logically they are enjoying themself more)

Simply adding the server isn't a true reflection as previous attempts have shown. The main server itself HAS to trial it, and the novelty has to wear off (so the first few days won't count as much).
I’d agree with a map rotations temporarily to gather data on which map is preferred.
