One of the most common Help & Support threads we receive is to do with crashing and timing out. To help reduce the number of duplicate threads, below is a list of things you can try first which may improve your experience and/or fix your problem.

-Download the necessary content beforehand (Link here)
-Manually delete and reinstall the content
-Disable other addons
-Change your game from 'Fullscreen' to 'Windowed'
-Disable custom content downloading (Options > Multiplayer > Allow custom custom content) 
-Verify Gmod Game cache

How to verify your cache

-Start a singleplayer game, and connect to the servers from there
-Reinstall Garry's Mod
