Welcome to the Grand Opening of the EvoCity Stock Exchange!

After much work, our development team is proud to release the EvoCity Stock Exchange. Clans and corporations can now make an Initial Public Offering and players can buy and sell their shares at the stock exchange.

Not only does this massively increase the potential for clan roleplay, allowing for market strategies, financial warfare, trade alliances, and so on, it provides new opportunities for both new and old, rich players to make money using money.

It's very simple to get started. Go to https://evocitystockexchange.net/ and login. There you can see the latest trading news, market values, and share prices. In the market tab you can choose which clans/corporations to buy stocks from, and you can sell your stocks in your portfolio, where you can also track your profits/losses.

There are very few rules when it comes to trading stocks; it's the wild west. Admins won't intervene to stop market strategies unless exploits are being used.

Clan stocks will change prices based on in-game clan activity. Several different statistics are tracked, and this information is converted into stock changes. There is a major update every night (simulating the markets opening/closing) and small updates throughout the day (every minute). These automated updates simulate the actions of millions of investors responding to the activity of in-game clans.

Stocks will also change prices based on roleplay. In-game roleplay and clan threads/event threads will be watched, and the stocks may adjust in price based on this. These changes will be managed by a small, non-biased team of admins, and monitored by development and the SAs. Clan war events will drastically alter stock prices. Incidents as simple as someone publishing pictures of a clan breaking the law may cause a reduction in their market value.

Many future updates to this are inbound, such as the ability for clans to store money in banks, and to export certain items that they produce (weapons/medkits from labs) to convert it into market value.
