Due to a new restructure within the administration team, we are all now working effectively in our own professions, being part of the content team, I would like some feedback on our recent updates!

What do you think of them?
What do you like?  Is there anything we can improve on?

Rising storm clan models haven't been added even though it got approved a month ago.
We have the models in the content pack just not on the server, so the materials are missing. Faustie is selectively deaf to our calls (i still love you sweety) so hence this post.

Apologies for coming over as pushy but a month is a long time for an 8mb model. We'd really like to do something including the models anytime soon but every request we have done so far has been ignored.

Edit: I'll post actual in-depth feedback tomorrow but I can't be arsed to do it on my phone.

ok.  Let's see.

First of all, I like seeing the stream of updates coming in.  It is good to see a new job come thru with the SSA, including a new vehicle.  It was also great to see the same vehicle shortly added as a Rep perk for the Firefighter.  This will be a great use of Rep points if all the jobs had perks like that.  And the new skins for some of those jobs.  Great, and really needed.  Just need to find a Firefighter one someday.

Secondly, a few things seem to have been rushed out.  A prime example is the new HUD and menu system.  Incorrect font, non-working functions, etc. that were introduced into the world, breaking a few elements.  And it seems that even to this day, there are glitches.  Also, a few other random things have happened resulting in the need to replace weapon, ammo, fire engines, etc.  Having to replace those manually is a pain for all involved.  Even the SSA seems a bit rushed as they cannot arrest

So, to sum up.  I think what is being done is great, good content and a nice steady flow.  However, it may be a good idea to spend a bit more time troubleshooting, testing for bugs and making sure it is solid and ready for public use.

Hope that is what you are looking for.  ;D

I enjoy the new Secret Service update. However one major problem I find for me is they vehicle sound. My god they are awful, please fix the vehicle sounds of the Chevy.

And lastly some defined rules for the SS, for example is it a job that can carry custom job titles. What to do when there is no president. I would like brief rules/guideline to be released with each update.

Approved.
I will flag up the issue with vehicle sound with our development team.

I will begin process of approval with the rest of the team regarding the rules.

Thank you.

The SS is nice but perhaps a bit too overpowered. If you consider the limits of the government, it can have seven police officers, four SWAT and three SS. That's 14 government members who are quite well prepared to defend the government control [if I got the numbers correct, which I think I did]. Even with an organised group, it would be very difficult to seize control, especially if the President is a Dictator and makes most of the government go with him to defend him *cough* Darthvirus *cough* due to the sheer numbers.

The average number of people in a group for a successful raid before was around three to four people. Now think about what efficiency these members would have to get on average in order to defeat a government Dictatorship [assuming around ten are defending]. That's a co-efficient of 2.5/3.33 kills per person. Then consider that the Dictator can also sign up private contractors, or could have all 14 government members defending him during this planned raid after information getting leaked. That would lead to a co-efficient of 3.5 kills per person for a four person group.

I think that the SS shouldn't get such powerful guns and modifications. I'd give them a UMP-45 instead, which is still powerful but not as overpowered. Perhaps dynamic limits per job would also help, which I'm pretty sure no longer occurs in the servers and has been forgotten.

This...Can't see why it takes so long to simply add some content that's already created to the servers and it's been brought up several times (partly why Darkn00b and I left contributor, hell I ported a fireman player model months ago and is still has not been added despite it really just being a drag & drop job then change the model location in a line of code).
It does not take hours and hours to add most workshop/model content, it takes 10 minutes and they should be at the top of the priority list since it's such a quick and simple job that adds more to the server
(for example this was posted on the furniture suggestion:
NOTICE: Due to large numbers of suggestion approvals, content pushing way take some time to organize, quality assure and push to our live serves. Please be patient.) - That could easily be done within the hour...

Just get the quick shit done and out of the way first unless there's something serious that needs dealing with..

Edit: Going through the list of approved suggestions, there are a lot of piss-easy jobs to do that won't need more than a couple of hours.

New RP Props - I assume you've already discussed the workshop packs you want from the list prior to being approved, just add them to server and content packs.
Make Wood Cutting Worthwhile! - Just increase the value of wood in code.
Furnitures! - Just add models to server and content packs.
Allow Firefighters to Access Locked Vehicles Shouldn't be too much, code is already pretty much there with ram tool.
Vehicle Improvement: Bus - Pretty sure this'd just be changing a couple parameters and testing it in-game (not 100% though).
Change NDS Default Female - Models already in place, just change the default job model path.
Police Evidence/Crime Scene Markers - Just add models to server and content packs.
Secret Service: Power to Arrest - Code already in other jobs, just add to this one too.
Change Cocaine - Change the line of text that shows.
old president model as a suit - Just make old player model an item, code can be used from other suits.
New fireman player model - Model has been ready for months, just add it server & content packs and change job model path.

To be honest, I am losing intrest in the servers due to see the same content and the only populated server is 33x. Seeing the same old content everyday is boring when you have 2800+ on the city rp gamemode.... There are so many approved suggestions yet they takes ages. I agree with GRiiM, yet development seems to be slow ever since Wood left :/

Hell, I'm not the best with lua, I suck at making my own scripts from scratch but configuring stuff like the CityRP game mode is ridiculously easy.
I'd happily slave away installing the updates.
It's frustrating how easy these things are to do yet they don't get done.
Instead of doing the small approved things were doing other big things like SS and stuff.

Apologies, please specify which updates are included under 'model optimization' to prevent further confusion.
In the mean time I'll create a new thread for the topic brought up in the posts deemed off-topic.

Edit: Here's the relevant thread: https://limelightgaming.net/index.php?topic=2657

Ah thankyou, thought it seems that these are just models available on the Steam Workshop, what optimization was carried out by the LimeLight development team (besides adding it to the LL content pack I assume)?
