Everytime I got to join the L2 server, it stops on downloading sound/zoom-out then I crash. This has happened 10 times now. Any ideas?

Give this an attempt:
Download all content packs from workshop if you haven't already (as in manually) then in your options > multiplayer disable downloads from multiplayer servers and then try joining and let us know what happens
