Summary:
  • The death toll from the Shoreham air crash where a vintage jet plummeted into traffic on a main trunk road is thought to have risen to 11, police have said.

  • Specialist recovery teams have begun recovering bodies from the site after the crash on Saturday, when the number of deaths was initially given as seven.

  • Investigators are still combing the crash site in West Sussex.

  • The large crash site remains a hazardous area with fuel still on the plane.

  • Mr Barry said a crane would be brought in to lift the wreckage of the aircraft on Monday, when officers feared they may discover more dead. An exclusion zone remains in place around the crash site.

  • Police have put up a large cordon surrounding the crash site as air crash investigators continue their work.

Deeply saddening. Hopefully soon we will understand the cause of the crash.

Rest in peace.
Cheers,

“I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square. His successor will pick up the shards of a ruined society and slowly help rebuild civilisation, as the Church has done so often in human history”  ~ His Eminence, Cardinal Francis George
