Operation Temperate Storm Brief

On January 12th 2021, following pressure from the Kremlin, Colonel Andrei Kolorov and his 25th Motor Rifle Regiment have launched an invasion on the small state of Chernarus. Despite numerous ultimatums from the European Union, NATO and the United Nations, Kolorov has refused to back down. Last week, representatives from the Russian Federation ordered Kolorov to withdraw. He refused. An emergency meeting was held by the UN Security Council and they determined it was the responsibility of Russia to handle the situation and bring Kolorov to justice, a move which they veto'd. Due to this decision, the United Kingdom agreed to handle the situation and has deployed contractors from Ares Defence Services to deal with the threat.

Current Contract Story

Day 1 - Scheduled for Sunday, April 4 @ 1900
Day 1 begins at 2312 with 1 Section from Ares Defence Services taking off from point "Charlie Oscar" in a HC6 Chinook chartered from the Royal Air Force. ADS had boots on the ground at point "India Papa" by 2330 and moved through two kilometres of woodblock to their observation point.

Within minutes of arriving at the observation point, ADS forces came under contact from the town of Berezino and alerted the Russian platoon stationed there. An aggressive assault was launched onto the local hospital, which had been commandeered by Colonel Kolorov. Within 20 minutes ADS had secured the hospital from hostile forces, however Kolorov was killed in the ensuing gunfight by Pte. R. [REDACTED].

During the ADS' evacuation from the town, Russian heavy armour reinforcements arrived from the city of Chernogorsk and engaged the vehicles ADS had commandeered to aide their escape. Following ADS' arrival at evacuation point "Echo Tango", they suffered heavy casualities from hostile armour and mechanized infantry units, forcing them to fall back into the treeline.

ADS forces were eventually evacuated by the Royal Air Force approximately 1000 metres north of Dubrovka, however during the flight the helicopter was hit by a Russian surface-to-air missile and the team was grounded near the village of Vyshnoye. Witnessing the crash, a hostile infantry squad within the village enganged ADS and they were forced to retreat to Zub castle

At approximately 0100, a quick reaction force from the United States Marine Corps, alongside close air support from a USAF A-10 Warthog arrived to relieve ADS forces, and they evacuated to the town of Sosnovka. Their retreat was not without resistantance, as they were engaged by enemy small arms and RPG fire through their journey.

The team regrouped with Captain D. Wallcroft, ADS and Major B. Adrian, 2IC of the joint UK-US task force stationed in the area. They returned to camp "Charlie Oscar" and are laying low until Lieutenant Colonel F. Chambers, codename "Baseplate", can get them out.
