Explain your suggestion, in detail:
Remove the restriction on SWAT using the civilian vehicle lights.

Explain why the suggestion should be implemented:
The restriction was implemented to reduce the overuse of lights on civilian vehicles by SWAT. This was extremely short sighted, was already dying down when it was implemented and goes against the guidelines we have now for suggestions (feature fever) and completely ignores the role of the SWAT Sgt and Police Chief in managing their departments. It's time to roll back that change and allow SWAT to have the same freedom in this regard as every other player on the server.

I think we should provide freedom OOC, but have chief's decide IC.

So yeah, remove restrictions.

Absolutely agree with both of you on this, may as well let the chief decide who gets to use them IC.

Yet, there still should be a no no to swat driving a Mclaren with lights around etc....needs to be realistic enough

As Apollo already stated, as long as it is realistic enough, this should definitely be a thing. Asking for permission from the Chief should also be normal procedure (as Ben said).
Have I been helpful? If so, I wouldn't mind a reputation report Smile https://limelightgaming.net/forums/reput...p?uid=4600

We should however restrict it from certain vehicles like the sports cars.

And even if they weren't, wouldn't it be an issue for the Chief of Police to manage the Police Force? /shrug

Although anything can be abused, I would rather see some restrictions to government until we have an actual negative to being demoted or some structure to the government involving some sort of whitelist. Currently, a police chief could command his whole PD (Including SWAT) to drive around in silly vehicles without worry of anything other than a short 3-4 minutes break from their position.

-Support until a harsher IC punishment is given for misbehaving government jobs.
