Mr Gogh, it is a pleasure

This month I met with Vince Gogh of the Black Forest Cartel, who's most recent claim to fame has been their dealings with The Temuto Brotherhood, which has attracted much publicity, leading to an arrest warrant being filed for Druggo Mike. However as far as anybody knows Mr Mike has been playing the smart move and laying low from the ATF. However due to some clever fronts  which I will get onto later, Mr Gogh has managed to avoid suspicion.

I met Mr Gogh at his mountain chateau in Truenorth, a new town which has received a high influx of criminal elements from my home town of Rockford. Mr Gogh specialises in the "herbal" side of the criminal world, specifically high potency cannabis. He was not always the leader of the business however. Of Norwegian heritage, but US born, he still considers himself Norsk, as was his late Father. His father had started the business due to his family needing money. When his father died, young Vince inherited the now rather substantial cannabis plantation his father had left him. Now many would have stayed in the same groove for the rest of their lives when they are put into a situation like this, but Mr Gogh has not stopped expanding his business since he gained it, always working with the same partners.

Mr Gogh has never been caught in his entire time in operation, although he has had skirmishes with the police. He claims he has hidden his growing through various legitimate fronts, which seems to check out, the one he permitted me to mention is his growth of GM (Genetically Modified) tomatoes, which he claims is his most suspected operation. Some would even use Mr Gogh's operation as a reason to fight against GM crops, which I am sure is a topic for another member of The Rockfordian.

Mr Gogh is rather unlike Mr Givens, he was willing to answer questions for one. His only question dodging was about his clientele, which is understandable. After all, people deserve privacy. This is the time I shall remind Law Enforcement that I shall not disclose contacts as my contacts deserve their privacy as much as I do. Other clientele mentioned by Mr Gogh are Revolver Gang, whom I wish to interview in the following months, and Mr Gogh said "They got in contact with us and are now helping us advance our business with some amazing constructions i cannot go into details on what they are building but its mutually beneficial for us, them and the rest of the city as it will make the transportation of certain goods out of public reach and eyesight."; Mr Gogh also mentioned an affiliate at Hightower Banking who has connected them with a criminal accountant who helped them with cash leakage from their accounts.

As I walked away from the cabin, I noticed their distinctive black delivery vans and I could see their greenhouse, full to the brim with "tomatoes" no doubt. Overall I think that Mr Gogh has been raising the standard for the criminal scene in Truenorth, as other groups have been trying to base their operations around the success of the Black Forest Cartel, and I am sure many fine interviews shall come in future if Mr Gogh continues to make a splash.

A letter to the public,

It seems that our respected columnist's latest edition of Underground Monthly has garnered the attention of the Chairman of Hightower Financial Services, Alistair Hightower, who has been quick to criticise the article and has even gone as far as threatening legal action. Unfortunately for Mr Hightower, their threats are misplaced as after diligent research, Mr Bastard determined Mr Gogh's statement to be reasonably factual and without malicious intent. 

Our journalist followed ethical codes of practice and saw Mr Gogh's statement to be newsworthy and trustworthy given his position in the criminal underworld and how he implicated another criminal entity. Furthermore, Mr Bastard was specific in his reporting of the original material which referenced an affiliate of Hightower Financial Services that linked them to a third-party accountant - signifying that neither the employees of Hightower Financial Services, nor Mr Hightower himself, made illicit transactions. I reiterate, Mr Bastard did not suggest Hightower Financial Services had committed criminal dealings - but published information from a reliable source that stated an individual at Hightower Financial Services had put Mr Gogh and his partners in touch with a third-party accountant.

Overall, we believe Mr Bastard upheld an ethical standard of journalistic practice and believed the statement to be reliable enough to publish - showing no negligence on his part. We therefore invite Mr Hightower to reconsider his position before launching unfounded accusations against our journalists and read the published material more carefully in future.
