Yesterday we released the new property system, there will be more improvements to come in relation to properties in near future

Doors are all linked for a property, you can access property menu via F2 as normal using any door
The interface is pretty much the same

You now pay the rent which is shown in the interface every 5 mins
The rent will depend on the property is self
Failing to pay the rent (not enough money) will first give a warning, on next payday if you still dont have money (which will include previous payment too) you will get evicted

You can add more people to share in paying the rent, to do this
- give them access if needed
- have them open interface and select the option to pay rent,
This is a opt in system so you cant force other to pay

Doors can still be named individually

Will there be a future addition to buying a property (until the owner disconnects) that can have co-owning and renting? I feel a whole renting system where the money goes into a black hole is kinda silly

It really does kind of make it seem like your renting the property from the state and they own every house, and could just walk up and demand access.

While I do like the rental system, it kind of has completely eliminated realtor RP for the most part as for each house they "own" its charging them upwards to 400 every 5 minutes, meaning if you "owned" a property for say 30 minutes, thats at least 2000 in unrecoverable funds that you need to add to a propertys "sale" value, and if you owned 5 properties, thats potentialy 10k every 30 minutes.

This all kind of encourages insane price hikes for land.

Perhaps you should be able to choose to rent the property, and anyone you add to that property you can charge them 100+% rent which would go into your pocket. So you pay 100$/week for 190 main for example, someone asks to use it for something, so you say "Okay. I'll accept with 120% of the rent", meaning they pay $120 which all goes into your pocket. Every payday you lose 100 and gain 20, making a profit.

It's a good way to get money out of the economy but I do agree.

Would be good for it to notify the police when someone has been given an eviction notice instead of just kicking them out.

I dono, that idea has some dire consiquences.

It would infact confirm that all properties on the map are state owned, meaning they then would have every right to demand access to the property at anytime, for any reason they see fit, and can evict you at anytime, for any reason they see fit, and jail you should you refuse.

I would almost suggest swapping the wording on the new system.

Change Rent, to Buy, and change the "rent" being paid to "Property Tax"

You can own all the land you want in real life, but you still have to pay property taxes on it and the state cant just bang on your door and demand access to your land because they wana check up on you.

This would change things in an RP sense drasticly, as the wording is key here.

Right now since everyone is renting, and not owning, no one really owns anything, and since the only place by default to rent from is the state, they own the land, and by proxy can demand access.

Swap it to buying and property tax, and youve solved that RP issue removing government access rights from all buildings.

It would be nice though to add a rental system to the properties that a player buys, so they themselves can rent it out to people, said renter avoids the property tax, and only pays what was agreed upon.

Though to be fair most renters would probably set it to the same as the property tax or higher, BUT still good to have an option.
