As I came to realise that my leave might have seen sudden, I decided to make this thread.

TL;DR for you lazy bums out there: Thanks for everything and I hope that you will continue to enjoy what has been part of my life for almost two years now!
Now, I'm not going to say something along the lines of "I might be back one day", because honestly I don't think I will (as you can find out the reason to in the thread below).
But in short I just want to say that I don't regret anything and I'm thankful for all the wonderful people I've met on here!


Hello Limelight!

As some of you may or may not know, on Monday the 23rd of July I decided to quit Gmod and as such also Limelight for the foreseeable future.

The reasons for this are many, but in a summed up sentence I simply found that I need to focus on my real life for the coming years and have grown weary and tired of constantly thinking about this game which I've come to realise has often become an outlet for my depression. This has spiralled throughout the years and I felt it was time to finally make the conscious decision to cut it out of my life.

If you or someone you know suffers from depression, talk to someone about it.
It doesn't matter who it is, it could be a friend, a sibling, a teacher or whoever, the important thing is that you come to terms with it and are able to talk about it. You need to know that you are not alone and that there is help to get, that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
If you are severely depressed or even suicidal and/or don't have anyone you feel comfortable talking to, go

I want to make it clear that I don't regret anything nor do I have anything against Limelight, it's team or it's members, this was solely a personal choice I had to make which I hope will help me in the long run.



I've seen people make these "good and bad people" lists, which I will refrain from. If I've had a problem with you, I will have most likely brought it up with you in person and I see no reason to leave snide remarks for the sake of shaming people publicly, so I will simply leave you with this thanks list to the people I've met through the years and enjoyed the company of.


@Daley - The first person (or perhaps an AI? I've yet to see your face!) who I met on Limelight that introduced me to proper RP and Lionscrest, and later on the contributor and teacher team. The memories we share have been fantastic and I hope to keep in touch even though I will no longer be on Limelight. You have without a doubt been my best friend on here ever since we met. I don't think further public words are needed as you already know what you have done for me, but I want you to know that I am thankful for all the help you've given me both in regards to Limelight and on a personal level.

@"Glofendil" @OfficialFriet - My two waffle-bound Belgians! I know you probably think I've been a bit harsh sometimes, rage quitting when Daley beats us Titans, screaming commands during Lionscrest RP's and in general VOIP bullshit, but I assure you it is only because I love you!

@"Nightmare" - My favourite Moderator! (you will always be a moderator in my heart )
Although we haven't done a lot of RP's together in recent times, you've always been one to spot good RP and probably one of the most engaging and charismatic staff members I've met.

@Overlewd - My favourite Russian weebo spy! We met during the height of Lionscrest only for you to disappear when the world needed you the most... Just kidding.
Your responsibilities as a SAdmin must be overwhelming and I hope you can help restore Limelight to it's former glory!

@PaulB - Back when I met Daley, you had just been made Contributor and now you're a Developer. I've enjoyed chatting with you about everything from programming languages to University life, even though we haven't seen each other too often in game recently.

@Bambo - Ah Bambo. What a rocky road we've had, but I still think that the intrigue(s) have made us closer in a way. Working with you on projects or partaking in RP's and events have always been a blast and I will miss you.

@"Cole_" - My essential Limelight twin. We were the only Contribeachers and that gave us a special bond. Sadly you must now carry on without me, but I hope everything will be alright in the end. P.S. I'm always up for blasting some terrorists in the face on RB6S!

@"ForceGhost" - I've always felt that our relation were a bit like Romeo & Juliet. Two people who had no quarrel but families that hated each other. Always enjoyed playing RB6S with you!

@"Dicky" - I never quite understood the reference jokes directed towards you, but I've always respected that you speak your mind truthfully and honest, even if it sometimes comes to bite you in the a**.

@Doctor Internet - You were always there when needed and quite frankly, Limelight would most likely have crumbled to pieces had it not been for you. I hope you don't see my resignation as a failure but can see why I decided to quit.

@Insert - My favourite (and only) Swede on the team, how could I possibly forget about you!
I hope you keep up the good work and will carry on the Swedish banner when I fall in battle.

@Vadar - My go to modeller guy! Always was fun working with you and if you keep up what I've come to expect from your work you're going to do great things.
P.S I'm sorry about killing you in the jail cells that one time. I don't think I ever said sorry for that, so I hope you can accept this apology.


Making this list I came to realise that If I were to list every single person I've had the pleasure to meet on here this thread would turn into Ulysses, so I hope you can find some pleasure in what is directed to all of you below:

To every member of the Limelight community which I've had the pleasure to meet and most likely teach a thing or two (or perhaps learn from), you will forever be in my heart and you are the soul of Limelight.
Without you there is no Limelight, there is no community and I would never have gotten to meet a single person on here if it were not for you. Thank you!
