Yep, because they're grey and boring.

In all seriousness, it's because the forum software (at the moment) only recognises staff members for profile creation. I'll be working to rewrite it to properly use the steam linking, so that it links on steamID, not profile name, and then links to the proper forum account no matter the name.

Fixed. However, media and business show up with their respective colours on the forum, rather than as veterans, due to their display group.
