London fire: Lives claimed at Grenfell Tower

Several people have died after a huge fire raged through the night at a west London tower block, a fire chief says.

Eyewitnesses said they saw people trapped inside the burning Grenfell Tower, in north Kensington, screaming for help, and shouting for their children to be saved.

More than 50 people are being treated in hospital, says London Ambulance.

The BBC's Andy Moore said the whole 24-story block had been alight and there were fears the building might collapse.

Sad to hear things like this happening in my country atm. Some people speculating it could have been a bomb but hopefully not. I hope all of the rest of the injured get better

This was absolutely horrible. I watched it when it came on the news during a break when I was on-duty. The people screaming, people jumping, the children being trapped inside and babies being thrown down in hope to save them from the fire spreading was really horrific.
