Server [US/EU]: The one and only
Map: V4b1
Description: Every time there is a lag spike, I get disconnected from the server. (You have has lost connection to the server)
Bug is [In-Game/On Forums/Other]: In-game
Since when have you experienced the bug?: Since today, never had the problem before or anything similar.
Additional Information: Unsure why this is happening, I suppose it could be my client that is faulty, but seeing as this started happening today and I haven't done anything different from earlier, I can't conclude that it is not a server issue.

*Bump*
Still happening I'm afraid, going to do a reinstall to make sure it isn't a problem on my side, but it started happening directly after the latest update.
Will investigate to see what is going on.

Have reinstalled GMod and all assets and still having this problem.

Not sure if there is a script, a GMod update or whatever that makes this happen, but I'm currently unable to play until this issue is resolved.

Really hope someone out there knows something I don't and could give a helping hand!

From what it may sound like, it sounds more of an issue with your ISP as if you instantly lose connection to the server when there is a lag spike then it might be an issue with your ISP trying to connect to the LimeLight Servers. I'm terrible with Networking so i'll just tag someone who loves me networks and probably understands them more.

Alrighty, so here's a couple of things I suspect might be happening. Your internet could be under heavy load by people in the house, your network could just be screwed or there's something going on between your connection to the server.

Is it only Limelight this is occuring?

Try cl_timeout 900 in console. It will set your timeout timer to countdown from 900 seconds.

I highly doubt that to be honest, I am the only person on my network, I have a 100/100 fibre connection and this only occurs on LL everytime one of the lovely lag spikes happen.
It used to be that it would just lag like for everyone else, up until when I made this thread, then I started being disconnected immediately instead.
So I doubt it's my network, seeing as I don't have any problems for the majority of the time, but only when the server lags.

Hmm, interesting.

Open up CMD (Windows Key + R then enter "cmd") then proceed to enter this command:

tracert 51.254.57.133

Once the command is in, hit enter and let it run. It might take a couple of minutes for this to complete. Once finished, expand the window as far as it goes then take a screenshot. Send this screenshot to me either by steam or by Forum PM. DO NOT post the screenshot here. You may alternatively try to select all text by right clicking then pressing Select All, copying, then sending it by Forum PM.

Please note that all this command will do is run through every point your network is hitting whilst connecting to the Limelight servers. This should identify if your connection is being stopped or otherwise interfered with whilst the connection is in progress. As this command will reveal information such as hostnames and potentially other IP addresses, it's important that you only show the result to other staff members or teachers. Don't show the screenshot in public either.

Please reply and tag me when you've done this.

@Voluptious Seems to me there's something on the backend that's timing him out. Will forward you the tracert results.
