Renovation of Crumbling Motels Highlights EvoCity Revival

The former motel on Downtown Road was an example of what EvoCity has become over the years, a crumbling ruin which has turned into a shopping centre for criminals.

The old motel was deconstructed and Lacy McNugget (@Palm), an experienced businesswoman, purchased and renovated the property for $250 000, it has since been renamed as the "Caliente Motel". A mere six rooms were build but this project has been one of the most visible signs of EvoCity finally turning the corner and looking towards a new future.

In terms of affordability, the rooms cost $500 a night with free access to the pool or one can purchase a permanent room for $2 000. "It's cheaper than buying a new house," said McNugget, "And you got everything here."

McNugget is also planning to help the community in several ways; "homeless people get one free night and a ride to the nearest homeless centre," she said, "cannot really do much as I do not have money yet, but as I said, for now we are only focusing on motel."

Customers have been entering at a moderate rate; "it needs a lot of decoration so we are keeping things slowly," said McNugget, "but it is a good location, there are no loud sounds like factories and people are liking it."

“I expect to die in bed, my successor will die in prison and his successor will die a martyr in the public square. His successor will pick up the shards of a ruined society and slowly help rebuild civilisation, as the Church has done so often in human history”  ~ His Eminence, Cardinal Francis George
