This is already a thing?
I allow SWAT to join any pursuit as long as they are close or backup is requested.

Why isn't this suggestion already accepted?
It makes no sense that two police cruisers follows a hummer or what else with highly armed up individuals with assault rifles. What are they expected to do with their pistols? Shoot much? Lol
I agree that you have to say that they can't just join up any pursuit. There has to be a reasonable tough that the person is armed, dangerous for public or anything else (Just proper common RP sense, a SWAT sarge won't jump in his car for a runner from a traffic stop...)
To all the nay sayers who say that a SWAT team doesn't join up in a high pursuit or anything else. Guess what, they do. Global wide they do. They even take over roles from the officers in case of high armed individuals to avoid them fleeing on higher speed or cause a shoot out (Police tactics for dummy's 2.0)

You want to see more fragments to change your point of view about SWAT not joining up pursuits? I can show you plenty of it.
Oh and in case you start saying that I am not an expert on it, I participate in the trainings

NOTE: AFAIK SWAT can join pursuits if it's a felony stops and/or firearms may be involved.
