How did you get to that conclusion?
Physics innit
On a serious note though, we witnessed it,
When we had rockford the Rp's going were really good
Truenorth Rp was also decent
Evocity from the time that ive been on and from what others are saying theres really no roleplay going on..
People have always complained about the "quality of RP". I fear you may be looking back at things with nostalgia. People complained about Rockford's "quality of RP" because the map was "too big". Everyone did the same for TrueNorth (and FOR ONCE they were right). And now this whole shitstorm has been whipped up even though WE HAVE THE HIGHEST PLAYER COUNT IN A YEAR.
A map does have its "influence" over what kinds of RP happen, but changing the map isn't going to do a damn thing to the "level of quality" and the amount of it because that's up to the players and staff. The map change isn't going to do a damn thing just like it hasn't the past 5 or 6 other times. Time to break the cycle and stay put for once and add new content to one, single map we may call home.
We have the highest player count in a while and a fair level of interesting things going on every day. Don't put the community in jeopardy once again with this insufferable map change nonsense.

Truenorth and Rockford easily had 30-45 players on daily. On evo its around 20-30
From what ive seen.
But tbf i would rather have rockford and "Meh" Content than have Evocity and good content (Just My opinion)

I can't say much for Rockford because I don't think I was around for that but Truenorth was the map that almost killed the server, not the one that saved it. On Truenorth we went for days and days barely hitting 8 players during peak time, without the map switching to the current one we'd be close to being dead in all honesty.

I personally never liked Rockford, however statistically thats the map that brought most players.
It feels as if playercount has hit an all time low since I rejoined. However I doubt this is solely due to EvoCity.

The Server hasn't had that fresh new content feel in what feels like forever. Its just nothings really changed for a long time, everyone has done everything there is to do 100s of times.

In all honesty, it would take so much time to implement all those things that have been suggested in this thread... way too long. The devs are certainly capable of doing that but they've also got other things to do.
I personally also agree that content is more important than the map... but would it hurt to switch the map to Rockford? I mean I don't know how much bigger Rockford is in terms of space but that's about it, everything else that the current map has (Tesla chargers etc.) would be there as well. What are the downsides of switching?
In my opinion one can't stay on the same map forever anyways...At some point there will always be people that want a map switch which is normal. The only map (or map series) that's quite stable is Downtown but that's due to its layout and its use for DarkRP servers which can't be compared to Limelight's CityRP.

The downsides to it all will be people losing the dupes they sunk hours into. I know the big clans have compounds that wouldn't transfer well at all.
The second downside is that we'll face this exact same thing 3 months down the road from now as we are right now and as we did when we switched from Rockford to TrueNorth. People are going to complain yet again that:
- Terrain is too rugged, not good for building
- Map is ugly
- Too spaced out, mainstreet feels empty
- No good places to RP

Oh, totally forgot the dupes when I was writing my reply. I personally understand that problem but let’s be honest, dupes are nothing for eternity. I already mentioned that in another post: A map change should be announced early enough so people can prepare.
Sticking to the same map won’t work out in the long run I think. People will definitely get bored of the map at some point and request something new. GTA was mentioned earlier and how it works out with the same map for them: GTA‘s map is another dimension compared to Gmod maps... and especially EvoCity V4B1. Also a GMod community server map can be changed upon request, that’s basically impossible with GTA, hence nobody thinks about a map change in GTA.

LL is suited to Evocity style based maps
Just how it is, as we have tested nothing else works other than small city maps.

These are not my arguments and complaints, these are the complaints of a majority of people when we changed the map from Rockford. It's time we stick to one map, add depth to our gamemode by adding new content, and work to preserve LL in the long run.

"No good places to RP"? Did you not read my previous posts about the maps and how there is definately a much more varied RP on rockford and truenorth and how evocity has nothing... Where is the best place to RP on evocity? What unique RP has occurred on Evocity?
