I think this does open up interesting RP opportunities. IRL illegal operations will have spotters nearby to alert the dealer if there is police activity and watch for unmarked cop cars (looking for lower suspension in the rear indicative of lots of police equipment in trunk, emergency lights) and with private radios people could do the same.

I'm not completely against compromising government radio but I don't want it to be some fantasy hacker stuff that a lot of RP tends to devolve into. I don't know about Europe, but most police radios in America are encrypted so you'd either be getting all of the communication or it'd be completely garbled. I'd be more supportive of the system being breaking into a cop car and having a tool that hacks the car's radio to break the encryption and then you could hear gov radio.

On that note - and not to distract too much from this thread - we could do something similar with door remote controls. Rather than breaking into cars to hack their remote it could be like in real life where you just have to be near someone using the remote to intercept their code:
https://www.dailydot.com/debug/samy-kamk...-car-hack/

That would provide very unique opportunities to sneak into the PD or other facilities and break someone out of jail without having to resort to violence for example. If you have the code who's gonna think you're an intruder?

If we want to go the more realistic route then, it would be less hacking into an encrypted signal, but rather just bugging an officer's car.
Yea. Maybe mechanics could look for bugs/trackers and remove them too

(Oct 21, 2018, 03:58 PM)Doctor Internet Wrote: [ -> ]Explain your suggestion, in detail: Remove scoreboard job colour, replace with player colour and job-based sorting.
Explain why the suggestion should be implemented: They've been removed everywhere else, so it makes sense.

Remove the colour? Yes.
Replace with player colour? Absolutely not.

People in the text radios should retain their colours, so in the /cradio or /pradio a green colour should be retained for ease of reading.

Voice radios should remain grey.

Government text radio should retain red/brown/blue colour for ease of reading and distinguishing who says what.

As we are on the subject of player colours, they should also have alternatives, some people have very weird colours that result to difficult to read names, some looking as if they are talking over local OOC while others are as if they are completely black. Maybe add a way for the player to add a number that changes the formula?

While the new system is really nice, it also very confusing and tiring to the eyes.
Something similar to how CW: HL2RP does it would be nice. Scoreboard shows your Steam profile picture, your characters name, whether you recognise them or not (obviously we don't have this system), and hovering over their picture gives their steam name and steam ID, which you can copy to clipboard from.

No colours and no sorting unless you're in a position that requires you to know that. For a citizen, nobody is categorised when tab is held. For any government official, when tab is held, they can see the all of their colleagues categorised into "PD", "Presidential" or "Fire and Rescue". This way, PD can know who to contact for emergency assistance, dispatch RP can still work because the dispatcher can see the whole gov, etc.

To add, it would make sense for everyone to know the President and Vice since they would've been on election campaign posters ICly.

TLDR:
Citizens have a scoreboard in which nothing is categorised, everyone looks jobless. (Apart from pres and VP)

Gov see all other gov members on the scoreboard.

Any other non-gov job (gun dealer, bmd, doctor, etc) is hidden for absolutely everybody.
