Explain your suggestion, in detail
This is a suggestion for the reduction of the area of which the ammunition's audio can be heard when a player is either getting ready to arm themselves, or when they need to refill their guns.

Explain why the suggestion should be implemented:
A recent RP scenario occurred where me & a few folks were at the bottom of the basement in 3 Richard Drive, with a dupe covering the stairs (1 layer) and a basic door covering the front of the house (layer 2). The scenario occurred when an officer called for backup and got a search warrant accepted when he heard ammunition being used, even though he was outside of the house and realistically should not have heard the ammunition being used from 2 layers away. The house was later raided completely and arrests were made, which gave me the idea to create this suggestion. I want raiding reasons and RP scenarios to become more realistic, if there is a reduction in the radius of sound for when the ammunition is being used, then it is less likely that a situation like this can occur as it can question whether it is reasonable in a role-playing matter. There is a debate whether sound is a valid reason for raiding a premises, although I agree to a certain extent that it is (only when contraband is being destroyed). I want to fill this loophole that is commonly abused so that we can get a clear stance on whether people can actually use the sound as a valid RP reason. To fill this loop hole, I would suggest simply reducing the area of which hearing the audio of ammunition would be close enough to actually be able to engage in the role-play.
Neutral for now, ammunition should be barely heard as it's a very quiet but then it might also take out some of the "fun" in gunfights.

+Support,

Every time the gun locker is used in the PD anyone near the PD goes

GUNS BEING LOADED NEAR PD

And well, that scenario as well.

This is a RP Server. Be creative when equipping items.
Gonna have to disagree with you there, Gungranny.

I'd rather have a realistic RP than allow others to get trigger happy when they hear ammunition being loaded from a quarter mile radius.

I can load a 100 round drum mag into an M4 Carbine, chamber it, and have it ready without alerting people in the room next to me, without having to do anything magical. I don't like how I have to go 10 phx or more away, to prep ammo to be used without actually doing anything with it like loading, and people can hear it at my front door. All you do is get the mag, slide it in, ease the bolt forward, and mash the forward assist a few times. If you maintain it decently, this will work. Dry, dusty rifle, maybe it doesn't seat the round correctly and you end up misfiring.

Hearing ammo loading is one of the reasons people raid. You'll hear "They're getting ready to fight... I hear them using ammo... " or from the weapon draw /me's (when I'm not visable to the people) "He just pulled out a gun, get a warrant."

Now for the sake of a game, I can understand if it was an action FPS. For a roleplaying game, I dunno how the cops could be alerted that I just grabbed my 45, when I'm in a back room and they are standing outside the house. Much less why they can raid for it.

Raiding over hearing ammo but not visually seeing the guy is technically metagaming, as there is no why your character should know that someone loaded ammo unless they did it where you could see them. Consider how it's NOT okay for cops to raid you over your UV light going through the walls. Why is it okay for them to raid cause of loading ammo or even pulling a gun, when they have no way to know past the audio and /me, which is still meta if you didn't see it.

If you wanna give this an IRL test. Wait till someone comes to your door, tell them to wait there, go two rooms away and pick up an object that fits in a pocket, put that in your pocket. Walk back to the door and ask the person if they heard what you did while you were gone. Willing to bet that unless you went out of your way to make extra noise, they probably didn't notice.
Completely agree with you there, Jokhah. I just want to enhance role-play while decreasing the amount of trigger happy cops who just do the job for raids. Obviously, this is one reason of many.

The situation that I stated in the original thread was actually allowed by one moderator, one admin and one super-admin which inspired me to create this suggestion so I can have a fair chance of getting my opinion in the community. I believe hearing the sounds shouldn't be a valid reason to raid, only visual or physical evidence. Obviously if you heard someone reload their gun in real life, they'd have to be rather damn close.
+ support, I don't think the /mes should be done automatically either as that also gives loads away. If you guys plan on keeping this, involve a rule which states that police cannot raid for something they haven't seen with their own eyes. I also think this should be the case for money printers too, as all it makes is an electrical sound and if you heard that IRL you wouldn't immediately think "Oh wow they're illegally printing money"
