The attacker, Abu Izzadeen, was radicalised at the age of 17. He was a known extremist, publicly calling for Muslims not to vote in the parliamentary elections in 2015 due to its 'prohibition' in Islam (shirk); also, calling for the removal of Kufr (non-Islamic) law in the UK.
He was jailed in 2008 for inciting attacks against American and British armed forces during the invasion of Iraq and funding terrorism. He was in frequent contact with extremists such as Abu Hamza and Omar Bakri Muhammed.
EDIT: It has now been said that Izzadeen was in prison at the time of the attack, initial reports had incorrectly named him as the attacker. His brother released information to prove this.

Initial reports did label Izzadeen as the attacker, however, an hour after my post, information was released which stated that Izzadeen was still in prison at the time. Conflicting information occurs in initial reporting, I was merely sharing information on the alleged attacker, no official sources had confirmed it.
Without intending disrespect to those who died; I feel it's only a matter of time before extremist organisations such as "BNP" or "Britain First" decide to hijack this for their own agenda.
Was about 5 minute walk down the road when this happened, and was on the bridge myself about half an hour before the attack.
Was in a building that was semi-underground at the time so didn't realise what was going on, no signal on my phone or anything. I heard some sirens but not gunshots, just assumed it was regular London. Only when I came out and saw police, ambulances and helicopters, phone signal came back and I had missed calls from about 6 different family members that I realised what was going on. London wasn't on lockdown though. I managed to get out fine and without any issues, even traffic was normal surprisingly.
I feel very lucky to still be here. Thoughts to the the victims and their families, especially the French students. Their country has had enough as it is.
Sad. Just got the news that more people died. Especially the officer. The UKs security has to tighten. I can see why the entire country is in lockdown. I can also remember going through the door to see the telly on the news channel and the words from the reporters. Its sad knowing that there were deaths. I also begin to question if the officer had a stab proof vest. Unless he was knifed in an artery at the leg or neck. Or maybe even the arm. Its sad to think about.
Its really horrible what happened but how can you call this an act of terrorism but call the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan an act of war?

Because
both combating sides are being led by a recognised political authority. Because attempts at diplomacy were made before attack. Because they're not intended to kill innocent civilians. I'm all for freedom of political belief, but don't let it make you completely dumb and blind.
It's not 'righteous' to make an enemy out of first world countries just because they're better off than the third world.
Definition of terrorism:
"the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives"
People die as a result of war, people die as a result of terrorism, but a justified war is not terrorism.
Not all Muslims? Fine, but can I at least have not all deaths? Is it terrorism if I'm 90 years old and die from falling out of bed? Is my bed a terrorist?

They did not intend to kill innocents, as bad as it sounds, it's collateral damage nothing more.
Btw Bush is accused of war crimes, so is Tony Blair, there is still a petition to bring them both to justice in the haig.
It is a crazy world that we all live in, seeing this happen is horrible and my thoughts go out to those who have lost their lives and were injured.
However no one can see a terrorist attack coming, it is something no one could predict to happen and is a horrible thought that someone would go out their way to make others suffer.
