No a crafting system for weapons is a really bad idea. That will make us lose players not make players do passive RP.

The idea here is to encourage players to do more passive RP and not force them because they don't have weapons. I get what you mean but crafting weapons is a really bad idea.
(May 31, 2016, 05:33 PM)Maniac Wrote: [ -> ]I think instead of making PassiveRP more rewarding, we should make AgressiveRP harder and more punishing.
In the current state everyone can get guns so incredibly easy, there's no reason not to use them.

You wake up in the middle of the night to see your curtains, oven and couch on fire. Which one do you extinguish first? None, you get the hell out because your goddamn house is on fire.

My point here is is that we have to look at the core of the problem which is agressiveRP as a whole. It's time to get straight to the point and grab this problem by the roots and eliminate it as much as possible. Instead we are trying to make up ways to "Promote" stuff, whilst the problem never ceases to exist. Guns are too easy to get, jailtimes are too slim, guns aren't taken when arrested, guns remain in inventory when disconnected etcetera.

For a start I think we need to make it harder for people to obtain (big) guns, and make it harder for people to carry these around. Hopefully the result will be that people think twice before becoming a criminal and/or pulling out a gun.

My 2 cents.

A hell of an idea from Maniac. It may sound demanding but worth a shot!

If not crafting, then when criminals get caught their weapons should be taken from them if they are being detained.
Remove F1 Job suggestion sums up what we need to do, including making weapons and ammunition a player-made item that cannot simply be spawned in.

Weapon crafting is a solution.

Also, -Support because I can't be asked to role-play for points. If I come on to role-play, it should be for fun and not something I need to particularly go all out with in attempts at getting more points to unlock items that everyone should be able to have to aid in their RP's.

I agree with the can't be asked to RP for the points again part but honestly back in the old community that's why people role-played. I do have a small suggestion for the weapons that might make it so much better for passive RP.

The suggestion is.

+Remove the ablity for normal players (Non-Gun Dealers) to see the price of said weapon from the F1 menu. But only allow it for the gun dealers to see the manufacture price.

+Replace all weapon manufacter from manufacturing 5 weapons per shipment to 1 weapon instead of five. That means the prices for each weapon will be so much higher thus expensive weapons will be much more rare.
Players like to obtain things easly , if you try to put something hard as guns or anything at all some players may find it boring and leave the server , same goes for put content locked by reps , it could be locked by hours , i belive some off us already think its quite boring have things locked by reps , at least i do , when i do roleplays its for be funny , not for receive reps , and even my roleplay its soo good and deserve a rep i dont get , and the majory dont get , and some may prefer agressive rp because of that perpahps , or because they spend hours building sonething when nobody goes there , it just takes the fun awy and sometimes takes the desire of be there , and some leave , they go play something else , theres a problem but we didnt find the soluction yet , and wont be making get guns hard to get that will fix it , thats what i think and see , may be wrong who knows

But the problem with REP's at the moment, at the start they were easy to obtain, they were being handed out like candy. But when admins have picked up on this they've made it nearly impossible to get a REP without going to a event.

At the moment the main source of REP's are coming from events, which isn't a good thing. If people are only RPing properly on the event server that means "newish" players don't see this kind of RP, and will not follow on.

The other problem is people don't like to attend passive RP's. I was doing a tattoo shop RP for three hours, we had around 10 people walk in, but only four of them actually stayed to attend the passive RP getting a tattoo etc.

But while doing this passive RP, we were attacked by aggressive RP'ers trying to extort us, in the end we had to put the dupe down back four times due to molotov's being thrown at the dupe.

RIP to all the heroin we had stashed in the needles that burned in the back of the shop. Never forgotten.

I could never understand why nobody was interested in my Sex Clinic, although when somebody came in it was really good RP. Some drug addicts came in and stole all the medical equipment, left the condoms of course. Actual checkups. Its just a shame people don't attend.

I also cant see, at all why Enzyme hasn't popped his nose in yet. Hmmm

People don't attend as people don't exactly "see" the point in PassiveRP. I did a test the other day, it was do 10hrs of Passive RP and see the statics, I was raided/mugged every 20mins, around $20,000 loss every hour due to adverts/muggings, and had more muggers/raiders than actual customers.

Even when I am fishing these muggers can't leave me alone ;(

PassiveRP's are way to rare, and once you get to the stage where you have over 10/15 REPs it doesn't seem very rewarding either.

TL;DR Make more shit REP required & make PassiveRP have more of a purpose
Also I'd like to add make REPs easier to get please tell me the last time someone got a rep without going to event except that bomb RP which shouldn't of happened in the first place p.s congrats Marvin on the REP
I like the idea of having a government voice radio.. I know what you thinking we have the Team speak but hardly ever do I come on the Team speak and see people using the channel. If we made a system in game for people to talk on the radio have have it almost moderated by the police Sargent and nexus secretary we could stop people from abusing/spamming it.

This would allow people to do PassiveRP within the government roles while allowing agressiveRP to maintain the same if not improving it. we would allow people to mute it and still have the text radio open for them to use. We could even allow more commends to be implemented that would go along side /backup but would be something like [Officer Hampton has pulled over a car for {reason} - Backstreet].
