IIRC the options were Code 1, Code 2, Code 3, Stop, Emergency, Caution, and something else stupid. They were redundant and got in the way of practical operation ![]() The majority of controllers I've seen have a 4 way switch, labelled [Off-1-2-3], with 1 being minimal emergency lights, 2 being most of the emergency lights, and 3 being all the fuckin' lights and sirens. What's up with that? I believe there was another element to my post as well Perhaps someone with a little more expertise in this field could answer that one? RE: The Emergency Vehicle Update - Soviethooves - Oct 23, 2017 Would you care to clarify so it can be answered? We have to rely on their cooperation to do so, and that usually doesn't happen. Until proper systems are in place, it'll be there. I do wonder how the Panic Button will affect FearRP though. it is a silent alarm, so would the player be afraid if under gunpoint? The person with the gun should have to take the alarm into account as well. This pops a question in my head, if say, FearRP doesn't apply to the button, a player comes to the store, attempts to rob it, Police come, a shootout happens and all the player gets, is 500$ and that's if he is successful. @Overlewd please halp RE: The Emergency Vehicle Update - Murdoch Murdoch - Oct 24, 2017 (Oct 24, 2017, 10:30 AM)Bambo Wrote: Because we still don't have a system to carry suspects and so on. Even if FearRP does apply, there's no way for the person with the gun to know if they broke it, in any other situation, unless the player has learned to PM and still hasn't followed the rules for some reason, you can see them making a request to government and you have time to book it after seeing they have broken the rules. With the silent alarm, however, this is not the case, you can't tell if they've broken anything until you're shot dead by police. Or, if FearRP doesn't apply, say goodbye to most of the surviving aspects of aggressive RP. Seems that one of the only safe forms of crime left is contrafarming in this case. If you're trying to turn this into base wars, that's the right way to go about it. Yes, because there's a panic button in your car. Or while you're walking. Or if you're doing a deal in some alley. Or if you're raiding someone else. Or you're fighting a dictator. Or if you take someone hostage. Or you're doing a quick in/out for a store. There's plenty of aggressive RP around, you just can't sprint into a store guns blazing and expect to get ignored now. What's up with that? It takes a lot of work and a lot of time to perfect each element, I've also had experience doing this and it's very intimidating going back and forth for hours on end on a car to get the lights in the exact location you need and want. I'm just saying, the amount of vehicles they have added definitions to is more than enough and to be honest I wouldn't have expected them to do so many. But you don't go in guns blazing, do you? Going by the rules if nothing else, when shots are fired FearRP is off anyway. But the fact is, it'd be dumb to mug a shop owner anyway. You'd demand protection money or something like that. That's an integral part of Corleone RP among other things. The fact of aggressive RP is, if it's not fun or lucrative, why bother? Of course, getting into a gunfight with the police is fun until you lose, which is most of the time due to their superior equipment. And then it's hardly lucrative. Especially for new players, it's hard to aggressive roleplay without money, so if something doesn't make money, why bother? That just intensifies the problem of the majority of the playerbase contrafarming and not roleplaying. As for the last thing, isn't that exactly what the button is for? RE: The Emergency Vehicle Update - Jen - Oct 24, 2017 Of course this all has to be added on the day I go on holiday, oh well I guess I will just have to wait. And I'm hoping that panic button is going well, have fun hopefully without being raided and being able to call the police silently. If you want a loud one in the future then I can do so, just make a suggestion.
