Nice analysis of my answer. My original point was that we have luxuries, these refugees don't even have a bed to sleep in. You are twisting my words, watching someone drown is not the same as killing them. You can't even answer a hypothetical question because you are ashamed of the answer. There is nothing wrong by helping your own first. If I fled a war I would be grateful if I had a place to sleep, even if I would have to sleep on the ground. I would certainly not throw food and water around and behaving like I wasn't offered any help at all. As for them not having beds to sleep in, bullshit. Almost every country is offering them a refugee camp to stay in which gives them the necessities to survive, including but not limited too... Sanitation, electricity, food, water, and areas to sleep with a good shelter over head. These people are the ones refusing to stay put, and not continue on. They are not refugees, they are economic migrants. Have you let out your luxuries, such as a bedroom, or a living room? What's the point in preaching something and not practicing it. The funny thing is, everyone talking about it already have formed their own opinions from their own knowledge and experience. So if the SJWs whom are preaching how we should help more would help a single refugee each, the crisis would be non existent. People love to talk shit, but hate to do it. Do something, or shut up about it. (And talking about it online isn't doing something.) I use to live in Arizona in the US. It was bordered with Mexico, and I can tell you I've seen first hand this kind of stuff. They don't work hard, they work cheap. Cheaper than most countries would deem minimum wage and because of that people who actually are citizens would have a terrible time finding a job because an employer would rather hire an immigrant that works for even less than them. Also, this whole "Every human life is important" is nothing more than a dream. I hate to bring up reality but you can't help everyone, and you will not treat everyone equal, this is basic human DNA. We will always choose those we care about more than some random individual. Movies and books always depicts this "hero" figure that everyone wants to be, and they think that they'd do something heroic and save everyone. That's also like some soldier who got out of basic training stating "MAN I CAN'T WAIT TO FIRE THIS GUN AT SOMEONE!" and when the bullets actually start flying they'll freeze and just sit there. You can't say that you know what you'd do unless you're actually put into that situation. OT: War is terrible, they have many places they can go, and many people are offering care. It's not my problem if they refuse, they want to be picky and that's on them. Re: Dead child's body renews call for action on migrant crisis. - Joey Skylynx - Sep 7, 2015 Same crap applies. In the UK, people can also goto the job services and they are forced to work for nothing so they can get "experience" Re: Dead child's body renews call for action on migrant crisis. - Lord Octagon - Sep 7, 2015 (Sep 7, 2015, 01:21 AM)Joey Skylynx link Wrote: Same crap applies. Look at Germany for instance. Re: Dead child's body renews call for action on migrant crisis. - George - Sep 7, 2015 (Sep 7, 2015, 01:21 AM)Joey Skylynx link Wrote: Same crap applies. The thing you are referring to is an apprenticeship which is usually only offered to those in or just leaving education as to allow for flexible hours. There is also minimum wage on apprenticeships, so people in them do not work for 'nothing'. All other jobs have to offer the standard minimum wage. [/quote] You're from and live in the United States? Don't see why you're speaking from the side of a British person when you don't know how we actually feel about this. I personally do feel sorry for these migrants and what they have had to endure but they shouldn't be so picky as to where they end up. They are lucky European countries are accepting them at all. I would also like to add that the United Kingdom should not be taking in migrants, we simply do not have enough room or resources for them. Our national services are already being stretched as it is and our population has been increasing sharply for decades, whereas Germany's has decreased. Would be nice to see the richer Arab countries take in some migrants but that'll never happen. Re: Dead child's body renews call for action on migrant crisis. - Joey Skylynx - Sep 7, 2015 I'm a dual citizen with the United States and United Kingdom. I also vote in each countries elections whenever I get the chance. Also I'm talking of the job programs offered which practically make you work at Tesco for less then minimum wage to "gain experince" which are pretty ridicilous as you require experince for most jobs so the whole idea seems rather pointless outside of cheaper labor. Please show a source to these programmes. Tesco pay more than minimum wage. |
