Things used to be a lot different when I was a teacher. It's a shame.

People will go to PassiveRP they like. Building a Sauna won't interest most players as most won't even go to one in real life (At least our playersbase for that matter).

People like races, make a race track.
People like guns, make a range.
People like shopping, make a mall.

But for the love of god don't make a Bank. Everyone will die in 10 minutes max.
That's why I made a sauna. So they could see what does it look like if they don't know.

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but that seems like one of the most boring RP ideas ever, literally "sit in a hot room RP", if you're trying to compete with Aggressive RP you're gonna need plenty of excitement

Another great point.

You have to pick something engaging that the players will enjoy. A bonus would be giving a service that is commonly needed.

Casino
Bar
Mechanic Shop
EMS Station
Defense Training (Killhouse or a regular class or both)
Not that I'd know anything about Passive RP, but here's what I think:

It takes planning and timing to execute a successful Passive RP.
Most PRP's require a nice build aswell as a (perhaps minimal) storyline.

These factors makes it more tempting to just "go cop" or similar where everything is already prepared for you (weapons, radio, vehicle, etc).

Most PRP's are also "closed rps", meaning that players cannot easily get involved with them. An example would be an Hamburger Stand, where you'd just be forced to leave after recieving your burger.

An example of an "open rp", would be an Prison RP, where players can just become Prisoners and Guards and easily get involved. They'd become a part of the RP. This is what people want to see and participate in.
Easy ways to perform open prps are by making events for the whole server to enjoy.

Players also need to come up with unique ideas, something different that will catch the eye of players on the server.
How often do you get to see a TheatreRP, SchoolRP or a Cooking ClassRP? Exactly!
Passive RP has become way to predictable, it's either a shop or stand nowadays (BORING!)

I'd like to say that BankRP's are like the damn best! Amazing PoliceRP, Hostage NegotiationRP, RobberRP and EmployeeRP. So many possibilities! As long as it's planned well, it can be done.

Theatre: Since you cant exactly watch a movie, youd have to pretend to watch a movie - not exactly the best night of your life

School: Half the playerbase is kids who play to get away from school

Cooking: I can see this working out, but for unexperience players it could get quite tedious.

lists a good few examples that are fun in varying degrees but also provide a needed service for others players, meaning you can make money from it too.

You dont have to be the most creative person in the world to think of an RP, just adapt on something thats already in game - decorate the logging area and turn it into a business (be cautious of rules on this though) or find a crashed car and set up a road block and investigate or whatever

Literally taking your time with a traffic stop or making an officer for your clan are examples Passive RP. It doesn't take much. Just don't involve shooting each other and you can label it Passive RP. Hell do a good Taxi RP. Sure, many won't use it, but if it looks good, you'll make a good example for new players.

To be quite honest, if someone put the effort in to make a reliable and efficient taxi service then plenty of people would use it - think of all the time you spend walking to your car after you crashed and died

It is really rare that the person which is involved in the traffic stop really wants to RP this out. These persons most likely drive away with their Nissan GT-R / step out of their vehicle and run / wont RP and just pay a fine / calling their mate to tranq or shoot the officer.

Ok you're right. That is a boring rp idea Big Grin. I just wanted to try because I'm finnish myself.

What do you guys (and the critic lol) think about Restaurant RP with /me's and /it's and Food Menu. I sell there food (chienese, fish, etc) but it takes time because "I need to cook it." (With using /me and /it.) I have/I'm making my own /me cooking commads.

A good idea because:
 - It is profitable for you
 - Provides a needed service for players (food)
 - Easy to incorporate /me & /it

It doesn't even need to take as much time as you would think. Of course, you could REALLY stretch it out but that's likely to piss people off who need food. 2 or 3 /me & /its would work great.

Actually, I've seen more and more people pull over and talk to officers or yield for them.

Plenty of excitement.. I've made yesterday a small restaurant. Literally, in the first 5 minutes i've spawned my dupe and posted my advert an anarchist comes and **[name] has taken out a Uzi from his backup** "Drop 500$ or die" *me drops* "Thanks" **[Name] Holstered the weapon** and runs away. I dont really know how that is better than RPing that makes actually fun. Nothing against aggressive RP, but i rarely see anybody actually RPing besides "Drop 500$ or die" or just contrawhoring.

Next time hire me as a guard and I will slap the f**king bandana off his fu**ing face!... Erm.. Sorry, I kinda got stuck in my aggressive RP role there.
