My only concern is raising the barrier too high for new players to be able to use contraband effectively. There should still be some easy, simple option that allows new players to use contraband while still focusing the majority of their efforts on learning how to RP. If they're focusing purely on a complex contra system, there's little room for RP.
Q: Should we raise the barrier for new players to be able to use contraband effectively?
Absolutely. The current system is too basic and allows you to simply drop down a set of contraband and requires absolutely zero focus and/or involvement. The risksĀ are non-existent and this is reflected in the extremely minute income that it can provide. Contraband should be in itself a role-play and we should develop it to be just that. It shouldn't be something that is just considered an easy source of side revenue while they participate in exterior role-plays. If you want to create additional ways for new players to earn an income, you've already got it. All they have to do is purchase an axe and left click a tree. Outside of this, you should be looking to expand passive-roleplay sources of income as that should ultimately be the focus of server development. Everyone shouldn't be relying on an illegal form of income.
