I've got a decent amount of skill in sims and whatnot, and cannot negotiate some corners without taking up the whole road. The controls in GMod aren't suited for precision driving.

And when you factor in people with less skill than someone like me, it just seems like a recipe for disaster

Then don't attempt to drive it if you know someone will end up dead xD

So your solution to the difficulties this will bring is to tell a majority of the server to not drive it?

For the record, I'm not against this, I just have major concerns about traffic disruption while navigating through the cities. In v33x, again using a Peterbilt 379, this time with an aerodynamic box trailer, I was unable to make a right turn in the city without either crossing into oncoming lanes of traffic (which would result in a crash if there was a vehicle present there, such as waiting for a light) or the trailer hopping the inside curb (and sometimes smashing into poles or other objects and getting stuck).

Now, the swinging into oncoming traffic part could be fixed by improving the truck's turning radius, but I fear the trailers would just be too long to be suitable for the maps.

At some point box trucks were mentioned- I think these would be much more appropriate for LimeLight due to their smaller size, but still big enough to haul items (I fit a small car in one)- The GMC C5500 was nice to drive around the city, plus it has a back door that can "open and close" (appear and disappear), which could probably be turned into something easily toggled, even making it solid so items can be stored in the back.
Let's face it. People will drive these because it is cool. Many won't care if they can't drive it well. In addition, other drivers have no issues with ramming you or trying to get around you. There is no such things as driver courtesy in EvoCity.

As such, it is a factor that needs to be considered. Perhaps as Stomm said, we could limit to box trucks in the smaller v33x, and branch out to trailers in Rockford... Or get the vehicle steering tweaked to better handle the tight corners.

I even heard something about being able to noclip the top half of a vehicle so they could just go right thru those traffic lights...

I really want to see trucks in the game, we just need to figure out how.

If you lot can find a flatbed truck that is not a gmc since it can only just fit a trabant then be my guest. Just at least a test run on the server would be nice.
+Support, It would open up so many passive RPs and even underground RP where you could smuggle counterfeit money and drugs.

A while ago I did a heist RP in which we used an RV and faked a breakdown to stop police and block the city tunnel, whilst the rest of the team escaped in a Mustang. Now I could imagine a derailed trailer, (if that's possible) with illegal items allover the road with the driver and passengers trying to recover the illegal goods and defend themselves from the police while they arrange secondary transport such as Raptors or Transit vans.

I do think the trucks should be somewhat expensive, no less than $200k and wouldn't personally mind if they were behind a REP wall to prevent them from being the new Dodge Charger.

Should be closer to 400 or 500, semi trucks aren't cheap.
