Once a player got killed the NLR menu shows up with a new button called "Investigation". If the player clicks the button, a timer will be set to 5-10 mins so the cops/detectives can go investigate. It's basically the same as with the medic system. An injured player can either wait or die.

Is it not possible for the player to respawn without despawning their body? If not, that's pretty disappointing, and there will have to be a system like you mentioned.
+support I was in an interrigation rp yesterday and it was great so this would make it even better

I was considering this also, but having anyone able to collect evidence would allow for things like vigilante RPs, so I think it shouldn't be restricted to just police.

Not at all, it just means you change the way you handle dead players. When they are fully dead you simply spawn a nocollided ragdoll and let the player respawn.

It's possible, you gotta spawn a ragdoll to replace their ragdoll

edit:

hi postmerge thanks for all the work you do

Why would the player be forced to wait to respawn? He can just die and his body would stay behind, allowing police to try to solve the murder.

NLR is 10 minutes.
How about bodies don't disappear for 10 minutes too ? The player isn't really supposed to be there so there won't be any awkward scenarios happening any soon between the two. I don't really know if that's even possible, but maybe make a ragdoll copy of the player once he respawns ?

Anyway, +Support this would be an amazing thing to see implemented.
+support great for rp and police
Can any developers/admins comment on if a player can respawn and then have a ragdoll created where they died so that an investigation can take place without forcing the deceased to wait?

Yes it is possible, when you die currently a ragdoll is already spawned (the injured state). If that one can't be used then you can simply copy its bone matrix and create a new one.
bump?

What about if the body stays for 10 minutes or a somebody presses E on it and then there is maybe an option "Leave the Body" or "Collect evidence" then the Body will stay until

1. The Player of the body dies a 2nd Time
2. The Detective (or whatever) presses E on the body "Call Coroner (OOC: Body will disapear)" or "Continue Investiagtion"

Simply make it so the body stays for a set amount of time, but also make it possible to move bodies too!

I had the exactly same idea but I would also like the ability to drag bodies so you can hide the evidence.
