The initial moneypacks vote was denied due to the public vote. A couple of months later, we reevaluated the situation, looking at steadily falling donation numbers, and realized that the expansions we wished to aim for were very likely unsustainable unless we took action. Still, rather than pushing it through, we created another public discussion thread, which has been available for everyone here to post their opinion on for quite a while. There's also been some very significant discussions in the team about it.

A few examples of what we plan to put or money towards, or have already spent it on:
- The new American dedicated server, and we're paying over double standard server costs monthly dude to the extra protection we're buying.
- Expenditures in the hundreds of pounds on contracted jobs.
- Charitable donations that we've been planning for a while; we've simply had to be too cautious with money previously in order to go for this.

I do appreciate everyone posting about creating stock markets and so on, but how long do you think it would take to create a fully-working dynamic system? We've been discussing stock markets for months, but realized many potential issues. You also have to create such a system so that it works for both low and high player-counts, which makes it more difficult. Stocks inherently don't work well in low numbers; they're too unstable. You'd also have to add in countless other systems to make stocks make sense and work properly. Instead, we've been focusing on making the gamemode more fun for poor and rich players alike, and more balanced also where possible.

Of course, we're always looking for ways to improve on the above systems, places to spend our money, and on community interaction. Given that we've been accepting opinions on this move publicly for a couple of months now, we've been available for community interaction this entire time; but, if you'd like to further discuss this or anything else, as always, our SA team is always available if you can catch em.

What kind of investment is that though when all the servers are usually empty now?
Now you guys want a stock market? Not like there are any forum posts about Mathias and I  working on one in our free time or anything.

It's actually on the final leg of development and was created on our own time and money, which Mathias had to stop due to work.

Why not just make it in-game instead? Also, I'd prioritize functionality over design.

Why not just make it in-game. Are you goddamn serious right now? These guys spent months working on a system that looks fucking beautiful and promising. It's something you'll never see in garry's mod servers anywhere and your response is "Why not JUST make it in game?".
This kind of ungrateful shit can really piss me off and I'm sure others agree. You should be glad we even get a stock exchange like this.

Great work Noble, looks fucking fantastic and I can't wait to use it.
Because Mathias and I are specialize in front/back-end web development, not lua. Hosting it online as opposed to directly in-game allows us to do a lot more than we ever could on there. In addition you'll be able to trade/invest in stocks anywhere you can access the internet, not just in-game.

And thanks guys, Mathias deserves most of the credit though getting all the backend stuff to function properly.

Right, forums was down and all, so super late reply.

There was a reason for the way I worded the things there, and I had actually no intention on mocking the system at all. And of course, we'll never see something like this in any other GMod server because originality is completely gone, thanks to ScriptFodder and CoderHire. It does not take months to write a system like this I can assure you however. Everything from a few days to a week or two.

When I remember, there is actually another system you could write, which would be even more useful than a stock market, but it also requires a tons of checks and other means.

Fair enough, and I can understand. I do like the GTA 5-like stock market, which I also found quite simplistic and good in the game.
Booooooo!

What's the big fuzz about, honestly.

People found ways to make money through selling donator statusses anyways.

It's good to see Limelight FINALLY moving forward, it is pretty dead around here.
