One more thing, "Nor are we "crumbling""
It is evident that you are, look at your player count on v33x, look at the ghost town on v2d, look at some of the brilliant veteran admins leave.
This will only make it worse, yes it may have been one individual on another community but it only takes one to abuse the system and boom! it backfires.
I know everything I have said means fuck all and that I have wasted my evening(as the decision was made).
I am going to leave till after January (A2 mock exams) now and hope you will all still be here in the new year. see ya.
Cya you later buddy.
Don't worry, we aren't crumbling, we have plans.
Good luck with your exams!
This was discussed for months, litterally months.
Why did you not post on the discussion threadS (yes, > 1) with all these concerns? Why wait untill its released to voice your negative concern? It makes no sense in a democracy that one complains about change when you did not do what you could to stop it (vote).

I'd be interested in seeing an expenses report to show that LL actually does need this money because I'm not very convinced you do when you raked in £500 worth of donations last month and it'll give us all more insight to the situation - Or is this another one of those

Seriously, what is the point in crying and moaning about money packs being added? To be honest, you all had the chance to stop this in the discussions thread, yet you didn't and it resulted in the packs being added. End of story really, if you really want to argue and moan at each other then redirect yourself to the discussions thread.
As you can all see Noble has given a teaser of what there is to come and I am going to stay with L2 no matter what since I am taking Obay's word on "We are not crumbling" I believe in L2, everything has potential if you work hard to get it somewhere.
I am sure that you all will be proven wrong sooner or later, anyway I hope you all enjoy. To be honest, adding the packs was needed for multiple reasons.

I do not necessarily believe I'm in the position to explain what we have planned, however one of the projects will remove most of that 500.
Must I also remind in my original post, this is not the place to argue. I'm not here to convince you, I'm here to remind you all this is not a place to debate it. The debate was already talked and done with, nearly 60% of the people who voted wanted money packs.
Can I just point out that shutting down v2d is going to do bollocks all to the money we collect as its ran on the same machine
Also lets not forget we've been going since August and "Another Community"... Oh yeah nigh on 8 years maybe that's why they have more players atm
As for us crumbling or being corrupt I'd like to point out at current my total earnings from LL is approximately £36.50 paid Septemember 2015 whereas I can earn £40+ working in a week with my band. If I were in it for the money would you not think I'd be gone by now?
Last warning peeps this thread gets closed if people keep making random accusations or corruption and cash grabbing.
I disagreed in the original thread with donation money, and i still do. I was already assuming that it was a matter of time though before this was implemented. The community has spoken though so i guess thats only fair.
And in all honesty, if where the money goes is "not available to the public" you can "take off your sunglasses" and realise that its just as vague as "the other community". I understand some things are surprises but i would put a lot more trust in it if i actually knew where my money is going.
So you guys discussed this before and it was denied. Waited two months just so you can push it through as no one would even think that someone could bring up same old topic just 2 months later? unless the community consists of as mentioned 68 members this is ashaming for you.
This has been a rolling popular discussion for a long time now. It was never forgotten

That thread was even active in the past few weeks so you were able to state your opinion recently.
That whole thing looks like a corrupt Presidential Vote.
I'm the only person here, that sees that 54,4% didn't want money packs, and won the vote?
And everyone keeps saying the majority wanted money packs, the hell. Majority would be 80 to 99% of votes from people that want money packs.
As expected, a lot of people are posting their opinions without fully understanding the situation. But that's OK; everyone here is entitled to their opinion and can post freely. I do want to clarify a few things however.
The initial moneypacks vote was denied due to the public vote. A couple of months later, we reevaluated the situation, looking at steadily falling donation numbers, and realized that the expansions we wished to aim for were very likely unsustainable unless we took action. Still, rather than pushing it through, we created another public discussion thread, which has been available for everyone here to post their opinion on for quite a while. There's also been some very significant discussions in the team about it.
A few examples of what we plan to put or money towards, or have already spent it on:
- The new American dedicated server, and we're paying over double standard server costs monthly dude to the extra protection we're buying.
- Expenditures in the hundreds of pounds on contracted jobs.
- Charitable donations that we've been planning for a while; we've simply had to be too cautious with money previously in order to go for this.
I do appreciate everyone posting about creating stock markets and so on, but how long do you think it would take to create a fully-working dynamic system? We've been discussing stock markets for months, but realized many potential issues. You also have to create such a system so that it works for both low and high player-counts, which makes it more difficult. Stocks inherently don't work well in low numbers; they're too unstable. You'd also have to add in countless other systems to make stocks make sense and work properly. Instead, we've been focusing on making the gamemode more fun for poor and rich players alike, and more balanced also where possible.
Of course, we're always looking for ways to improve on the above systems, places to spend our money, and on community interaction. Given that we've been accepting opinions on this move publicly for a couple of months now, we've been available for community interaction this entire time; but, if you'd like to further discuss this or anything else, as always, our SA team is always available if you can catch em.

A few days for stocks. Just base it on a currently existing index in the world, example gold and go from there. People could also be capable of trading stocks etc. with other players.
Stocks can work in all numbers, example:
I buy 1 stock for 200$ in X company. The day after, it rises to 250$. I sell the stock and have 50$ profit. If it was the opposite, I would have 50$ loss. In what way could this not work?
Cider is ment to work with static variables for item prices, but making a simple randomization on a day-to-day for the prices is not impossible at all.
