LimeLightGaming Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Open Series
Greetings, LimeLightGaming will be running a Counter Strike: Global Offensive tournament for all of those who are interested.
The format for the tournament will be as follows:
There will be two initial group stage matches in which two teams go head to head in a BO1. This will happen twice. The two winners of the group will then go head to head in another BO1 and the winner of that match will be immediately put forward into the quarter finals.
This will happen for every group which will fill up 4 of the available 8 spaces for the quarter finals.
Then, the remaining 3 teams in the group will play. Let's call the remaining teams "TEAM 1, TEAM 2 & TEAM 3". Team 1 will then play team 2 in another BO1. If team 1 win, team 2 will be out of the tournament and team 1 will play team 3 in another BO1. Whoever wins this final match will get the last place for the group in the quarter-finals.
This will also happen for every group which will fill up all 8 of the 8 available spaces in the quarter finals.
The format is then pretty simple from there, we have 4 quarter final matches, the winners of these head to the semi-finals and then the winners of those head to the finals.
So:
GROUP STAGE 1 - BO1
GROUP STAGE 2 - BO1
QUARTER FINALS - BO3
SEMI FINALS - BO3
FINALS - BO3
If you do not understand my explanation of the format, just look up the recent ESL One Cologne format in-game or at this link:
Maps are decided through choice & elimination in the VETO process.
This format is subject to change depending on how many teams and applicants there are, so any changes will be made on this thread, including an up to-date-diagram when the teams are finalised.
There is not yet a confirmed date for the tournament, as we need all team rosters finalised before deciding how long the event will take.
There will be a prize pool for the winning teams & semi-finalists as follows:
[align=center]WINNERS - 500k for team. (100k each)
SEMI-FINALISTS - 250K for team. (50k each)
Massive thanks to Wood for funding this prize pool!
The event will be casted and streamed live on Twitch for you to watch if you wish.
Unfortunately, GOTV will not be enabled on the server due to port issues we have, so you will have to watch through Twitch if you wish to tune in as the only people allowed in the spectator positions are the casters to avoid any ghosting.
If you wish to register for this event, you can do so either as a team or a solo player (we will place you in a team) using the templates below:
