+support, but with this and the lockpicking mechanics it'll become quite difficult to steal cars, so there must be some sort of reward for it.

The reward is driving away with a car.
+Support, it was way to easy to steal cars before!
Perhaps they could have it so if you pick lock the car you have to hold a button e.g E
It will then it could have a message appear saying "Hot wiring" with a bar and then when it is done you can start the car's engine.

This would be the gain.

This should be done in a chopshop, so a car thief would also make a chopshop. Which nearly none of them are currently doing.

Perhaps even make it so that selected cars can't be hotwired, I know for an example that newer cars are a lot more difficult to hotwire in comparison to older generation cars. Some even can't be hotwired.

Recently I had a chopshop. It was way too easy to do so.
