WHAT: Add the ability for players to choose a primary and secondary trait for their characters. These traits would slightly modify various aspects to help better personalize a character's skills. Some traits may be Primary only, but most will be available to either, with a weaker version for secondary traits.
There should be a restriction on when these can be changed, such as maybe once on hour, or only for a few minutes after a character (re)spawns.
A quick list of 'Traits' I've thought of and their rough effects:
WHY: This will allow players to better tweak their characters for an RP without putting those who lack certain traits at a disadvantage. It will add choices for players to make in order to best reflect their character's skills.
OTHER: This is a loose idea that I am open to workshopping. Please let me know any concerns, tweaks, additions you may have in mind.

Hot Feet:
Big Lungs:
Peak Physique:
Drug Resistant: (Primary Only)
Drug Sensitive: (Primary Only)
- Character can run slightly faster (but still not as fast as someone who has been 'medically' enhanced)
Big Lungs:
- Characters can hold their breath longer. (Stay underwater or in smoky areas longer)
Peak Physique:
- Stamina is drained slower (Sprint for a few seconds longer, chop more wood, etc)
Drug Resistant: (Primary Only)
- Tranquilizers take longer to kick in and don't last as long (Total time between getting hit by a tranq and waking up would be the same, but with less time actually unconscious)
- Poisoned Food does less damage (But still fatal if the character isn't in perfect health)
- Drug effects don't last as long (Like the speed boost from a certain drug)
- Steroids restore less stamina
- Health Vials, Health Kits, and healing from other players is less effective
Drug Sensitive: (Primary Only)
- Health Vials, Health Kits, and healing from other players is more effective.
- Drug effects last longer
- Tranquilizers kick in faster and last longer (Total time between getting hit by a tranq and waking up would be the same, but with more time actually unconscious)
- Chance for Vending Machines to give a free second item
- Improved chance of better resources from mining/woodcutting
- (Primary Only) Occasionally find money dropped on the ground (Works like the Christmas gifts, but with just single bills, like $1, $2, $5, $10, $20, $100)
- Keypads are cracked slightly faster.
- Locks are picked slightly faster.
- Skill XP is gained slightly faster.
- Laboratories work slightly faster
- Other 'labs' have slightly better outputs.
- Character takes slightly less damage from car crashes, falls, punches, and attacks with blunt objects.
- Character makes less noise when moving (Walking is as quiet as crouching, Sprinting is as quiet as walking)
- Vehicles driven by the character get a little more out of each tank of gas or charge of battery
