Full Version: /hud options

Explain your suggestion, in detail:
Give players to options to have certain parts of the hud available.
Have the option to remove the everything besides chat.
/hud removes all chat and is purely the game. If you are recording for a video you can not see /me /it or even chat.

Explain why the suggestion should be implemented:
Allows good videos to be made in a proper style not just third person view and the hud up.

Example:
Current /hud: [Image: ZSzKuZx.jpg]

Idea /hud with options: [Image: he9bI9u.png]

Thanks Torgrim for being my example.

Perhaps rework /hud to let us enable and disable any combination of hud elements instead?

That's what I wanted to say i just didn't know how to. Make the HUD fully up to what the player wants on the screen.
I think the most important thing is to remove the chatbox removal from the /hud command and probably make a new command to remove the chatbox itself if needed. This would probably be the simplest option as well as fit your needs.

Regarding Ben‘s suggestion: Sure, that would probably even be better but might not be needed... Most of the time you either want to have all hud elements on the screen or none at all, meaning it’s probably not worth the time that would need to go into it. Still, if possible and not requiring too much effort, Ben’s suggestion would even be cooler for some people.

Not sure why, but when I do /hud I gain about 20 FPS. I sometimes do it when the city is a little too laggy.

If this can be added and not affect that. Then please, a light weight or configurable hud would be great.

I do like the system, however, I do not believe it should be a high priority to make it straight away. But that shall be up to the development team.

Overall, an excellent suggestion which I believe might give people better tools to work with when creating media for LL.
I wouldn't use it but I'm sure this could be useful to some.
