- 2 new job slots Corrections Officer
Corrections Officers
Description: These officers aren't the smartest, but they passed the test to watch prisoners. Corrections officers are meant to observe, interact, and control inmates in the correctional facilities.
Access: This job has all access to government property and lockers.
Requirements: 20 Hours as any government job (Overall, not limited to one job)
Keep reading. They have a lot of power. This ensures someone has spent some time behind the "red tape" of working in government.
Issued Gear:
- ASP Baton
- Taser
- Handcuffs
- Optional Less Lethal Shotgun
- Ram
- Arrest/Unarrest Baton
In actual prisons and jails, it is rare for lethal firearms to be carried anywhere on the grounds.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Implement the following changes to the prison and arrest system:
- The prison now has a simple schedule:
-- Lights out (Go in cells) [10 minutes] [5 Minutes w/o Corrections Officer]
Prisoner must be in a cell, in which the cell doors are sealed automatically.
-- Lunch Time (Go to the canteen and eat) [5 Minutes]
Prisoner must consume 1 food item that spawns in the canteen at this time. Only 1 piece of food can be eaten
-- Shower time (Go to shower room) [5 Minutes]
Simply just stay in shower room for 5 minutes
-- Recreation time (Misc. do what you want) [20 Minutes] [10 Minutes w/o Corrections Officer]
All cell doors and section doors are open for prisoners to walk around freely (except for main entrance door)
-- Repeat
This is automated, with text cues as announcements for everyone in the prison area (Ex. "All prisoners report to the canteen for chow time").
If there is a Corrections Officer job filled, the prisoners must go to each area (or eat in the case of the canteen) to stay on schedule. The prisoners must go to the area to have their time continue. If the prisoner misses an activity, completely, they have 3 Minutes added to their time.
If there is NOT a Corrections Officer job filled, the schedule still runs, but "Lights Out" and "Recreation Time" are cut in half to keep prisoners active. The rest of the system applies. This is due to no interaction and limited RP in prisons because of no Corrections Officers. This way there is still a penalty of going AFK in prison, but it isn't that harsh and long.
- Corrections Officers can extend the time of any prisoner via a /extension request to the person in charge (President, VP, Chief of PD, etc.)
- If a Corrections Officer hits a prisoner with their arrest/unarrest baton by left-clicking, they can pause the time on their sentence. This only pauses it for up to five minutes and has a 10 minutes recharge for each individual prisoner. This way, if they're requesting an extension or handling a riot, the prisoner doesn't disappear from the timer going out.
- Corrections Officers can create their own scheduled activities by typing /activity [title] [announcement (optional)] [time (Up to 20 minutes)]. These do not have an automatic penalization time.
- With a Corrections Officer, arrest maximum time is 30 Minutes
- Without a Corrections Officer, arrest maximum time is 20 Minutes
- For the sake of the system, Corrections Officers are considered to have the powers and rank of Police Officers and can be demoted by Chief of PD, VP, and President.
- All prison doors can be overridden by the door panel (Located in the prison control area) or the "ram" weapon. Just in case a glitch, riot, or any other circumstance the doors need to be forced open outside of the schedule.
- Prisoners have no restraints, but can not access their inventory. Encourages more activity and possibly some fighting with reason
- Add phone booths located in the main area where the cells are.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Rule Additions:
- Corrections Officers must man the prison at all times, unless they are in an activity involving or because of the prison. Custom prison locations are secondary to the Nexus Prison (Ex. Transporting/Chasing a prisoner or being a hostage after a prison breakout) They are Corrections Officers. They are meant to be in the prison. This forces them to be where the prisoners are teleported and if they wish, to have a supervisor acting with outside players with a custom prison.
- Corrections Officers may NOT extend, pause, or release prisoners without proper reasoning.
- Arresting Players (Officer, SWAT, Secret Service, etc.) and Warrant-Approving Players (President, VP, Police Chief, etc.) MUST give defendants (arrestees) fair punishments with reasoning backed to them. Ex. Giving someone 25 minutes for jaywalking. Although this would be hard to judge, a good IC defense by either party can give easy evidence to the staff member investigating. This also puts more responsiblity on the person approving warrants and hopefully causes them to read and investigate warrants before just clicking Approve.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
[b]TL:DR Adds Corrections Officers that have the powers and equiptment (except lethal weapons) of regular Police Officers that are tasked with controlling and supervising prisoners in the prison along with increased sentencting time that changes to shorter times if there is no Corrections Officer job slot filled.[/b]
Ok I think that's everything.
These changes would allow for a longer punishment with a Corrections Officer to be a lot more than just an AFK room, but now a chance to RP with officers and other inmates. It also encourages personal choices of special scheduling of activities. Without a Corrections Officer, the time is shorter and allows for prisoners to interact still and keeps them from just being AFK and actually going through the not fun activities of being in prison.
