Really not the way LL should go, not even with small steps.
is the steam group boost also p2w?
It doesn't give you any advantage over other players.
, that comparison isn’t fair. You actually have to buy something in order to obtain the skill xp boost, for your comparison you have to sign up to a free website and join a group. Big difference.

Hmm, I know what will revive LL! Introducing a pay2win feature... great idea.

Does limelight get any profit off of it? No. Not p2w.
Do the perks give a noticeable advantage over other players? No. Not p2w.
Getting 5% more xp on the skill system is nothing. Quit trying to make it as if limelight is trying to lock guns behind paywalls and you need to pay $15 to build.
Its a very small reward for people boosting discord and thus giving ALL of US a better server.
Just because LL doesn't make profit off of it, nor having a NOTICABLE advantage mean it's not pay-to-win. Your argument is flawed. The advantage is gained by purchasing Discord Nitro, which is overly expensive, and then using that on the Limelight Discord server. You are having to PURCHASE something in order to have the chance of even obtaining the reward, that's pay-to-win.
You also didn't comment on how your statement about joining a steam group has any relation to pay-to-win systems.

I will just quote this two for ya.

Regarding how big of a p2w element this is, and how this boost affects the exp numbers, I'd ask for the numbers man to jump in there, I'm bad with numbers

A 5% XP boost turns 5xp into 5.25xp. That turns an hours work into an hour and three minutes. Or for 100 hours of work, it gives you 3 hours. That's a boost. That's not pay2win.
Maybe if discord boosting gave you a 5000% increase (it doesn't), and gave us money (it doesn't), I'd see your point.
But then again, the community voted to give membership a 50% reduction in stolen uniform cooldown, so what do I know about pay2win right?
If Cole opened his wallet we’d be alright lmao
Jesus, some people can make a scene over literally nothing, chill the fuck out and get real peeps.
Get off your soapboxes and realise that this ain’t major and really is small in the grand scheme of things. Go argue about more important things or better still stop arguing with each other, if this trend of arguing over dumb stuff continues, give it time and there won’t be a Limelight to argue on, just a toxic online battlefield.
Just chill out and realise that this isn’t the start of a pay-to-win Limelight, but just something to boost the community a bit with some incentives for those who do.
Have a great evening, Lamelight!!
I need the Bank of England to pay for fucking nitro eat my massive shlong

Pay to
win.
A 5% boost for xp gain, for a system which
isn't competitive, and reflects
personal gain, is paying to
win?
Come back to me when you get a !slay command, an m249 on spawn, god mode or a mod promotion with membership. Something which is actually paying to gain a competitive advantage over other players.

Usually i let you get away with this, but this time your wrong
Remind me how being able to sell donator in game, making 400k for £5, that LL does profit from, isn’t a problem yet a 5% XP boost for something they don’t profit for is?
What a joke, quit fucking whinging. Well done to the team for introducing this.
LL has always technically been P2W, moneypaks exist and always have.
I think we all need to relax. It is fine to air your concerns, as well as give constructive criticism.
But if you take a moment to look at video games, or servers, that have pay to win elements you should see that this is not one. This is pay to skip if anything. You boost the discord server, in return you gain a minor XP boost, which will save you some time.
The fishing skill isn't use competitively. You can't fish somebody to death. Besides money packs are the same principle. Pay to gain money, so that you do not have to grind for it in-game. While game play mechanics should not be changed to facilitate or encourage people to buy such things, which as far as I am aware, is not the case, this was a recent idea, then I personally see no issue with it. And it doesn't fall under the definition of pay to win either way.
