Damn, where was that one hero with a gun who could've killed the shooter?!?

Actually where were they in EVERY other mass shooting? Oh yeah, that excuse doesn't work.

I'm sure they were off school grounds as a school is a gun free zone. It just so happens that the majority of shootings happens in these magical gun free zones. If only the teachers or other faculty were armed, something could have been done.

There were 2 armed officers in the school, they weren't able to respond in time. They even had advance notice that he was on campus since a teacher recognized him and called it in (he was expelled a year prior).
SORRY BUT WHY DOES EVERY SINGLE POST ABOUT AN ATTACK ON US SOIL INSTANTLY TURN INTO A GUN CONTROL DEBATE ITS GETTING FUCKING BORING.

Because it's a valid argument that can be brought up. It isn't hard to educate people who don't understand that it's an issue or to believe that gun control is the only way this could be stopped (it isn't IMO).

1967 Incident - Tractor death wasn't intentional, and could be compared better to a workplace accident, not someone with a gun meditating to kill someone.

1995 Incident - Still an issue, but an easy one to control as the production can be controlled. Guns don't just pop out of a cow's ass. Guns are complex machines that require parts that some people have had for decades and some can just be made or bought off others. Not to mention fertilizer is less re-usable than a gun. Fertilizer is used and then you need more. A gun can be used for centuries if properly kept.

2001 Incident - A debatable safety regulation. TSA is a barely working branch of Homeland Security that does nothing.

Mostly because guns (like I said before) are so embedded in our society at this point that trying to take them away or limit them more only hurts citizens with good intentions.

Gun restrictions only make it harder for law-abiding citizens to get firearms. It doesn't stop James from going to Bourbon St. in New Orleans to pick up a stolen M9 to be used to kill his wife.

Yeah, we need to up mental health checks on all firearms sales, other than 1911s; those are basically single-shot anyways.

There is a thread on gun control for a reason. People in general need to stop talking about it on threads like this where they should instead be paying their respects.

I don't necessarily think that gun control has anything to do with this. Shootings are bound to happen. All over Europe there are shootings in countries that ban firearms. There's nothing you can do really, maybe just hype up security but still that results in a need for more jobs, more expenditures, etc.
You might want to look into the statistics for that. Because that does not seem true. There are plenty of sources that debunk that. Even in EU countries which allow weapons, the control, as well as limitations are a lot stricter leading in less situations like this.

If you want to have guns then that is fine, but stop making up nonsense. It's your choice as Americans to have guns and that is completely fine.

I know it doesn't have the past two years on it but it does give some interesting information.

This aint a church or a ceremony, it’s a news thread where people can comment on the news and any problems that comes out of the situation.

There's plans to limit the sale of acids as we take action when we see a problem.

Well yeah, knife crime is higher in the UK as we don't have guns. But far more people are killed per year by firearms in the US than knifes in the UK.

Has the US never had a bombing take place?

A lot more people survived when a car mounted a busy pavement then did when a guy opened fire at a school with a machine gun, no?

Acid isn't a constitutional right. Limiting the sale of guns will do nothing to stop these kinds of people. When someone plans a shooting for months, they can quite easily make a homemade bomb or illegally buy a weapon instead. Gun control legislation only applies to those who follow the law. Once you step outside the bounds of the law, it's criminal. Don't go on about the "we take action" argument.

Knife crimes are rising in the UK in fact. Ban the guns, other crimes will rise.

We have seen our fair share of bombings, but the number of bombings and truck attacks in the UK and other European countries has been far higher than the US in recent times.

Maybe in some instances, but a lot more people died in the 2016 Nice truck attack than this school shooting. 86 died and 458 others were injured there. Also, it was not a machine gun. A machine gun has automatic fire. This was semi-automatic.
