But that's gmod, a 2004 game with horrible graphics on a semi-serious RP server, not in Arma 3.
It’s amazing how people complain about police raiding your base 24/7 because someone owns it, but when I test it, the only thing I run into is a burglar. If you want to be underground, actually try to be underground. Hide your bases and don’t act suspicious.
yeah ill hide my base underground

Let me just buy a bunker, one sec.
If they see that only a fucking door is owned they wait ages to hear ONE "strange" noise and then we all know what follows.
/warrant 1 search Suspicious noises
OR some guy makes a /911 call "contraband richard drive" and then ALL houses will be searched, with proof or not.

IT IS Pasta Sallad in a container in finnish if you use google translator, lmao
Translator is shit.
Panzer is Tank. Maybe Translator thinks "tank" is like "oil-tank".
The owned door theory is flimsy. While I believed that was the case for a while, I've found that it's largely nothing. Most of the guys who do that shit are randomly raiding and typically fuck off it you voice that point. Been doing a zero prop set up for a week now, using a blank space as my door title, not a single raid on it yet. If it looks like there is nothing, typically they pass it up.
Criminals, sure, but police not nearly as often, or at least not within the rules.
What I've noted out of the many different groups of basers is that they tend to be packing obvious weapons, start shit with others, then either boast for days when they win citing "Don't be salty lol, make a PR" or end up shitty cause they lost a fight they feel they should have won citing "I'm gonna make a PR." The point I'm making is that if you keep everyone on your team in check, keep the attitudes down, don't give cops a reason, they can't do shit. Kill'em with kindness. We had a full mafia team with full contra in 6 Richard for around 5 hours, not one attempted raid in that span, even with a near full gov team. Mainly because we kept masks off and only handguns on us, which can't been seen. They came to attempt raid about 5-6 times, but every time we were able to show they had no reason other than "suspicion" which isn't an actual reason to raid. They need more than a gut feeling to knock the door down, else they might bust a house open and find nothing inside, no armed men, and face a serious case in the courthouse.
Another thing I've noted is that with the lack of rules, SWAT tends to patrol looking for places to raid, rather than waiting for the right radio or request call, pulling raids out of no where, without logical reasoning. The few people I noted who did this have since stopped that behavior after I set a base with nothing in it, set job to "contrafarmer" and waited for them to show up. Just gotta reality check the bad apples.
As for criminal raiders, nothing can be done about them, but most of them can't shoot anyway.
The direction that has been pushed is "freedom of RP at the expense of some for the gain of others." Sometimes I miss the original ruleset of 8927982789327118927 rules in some aspects. Mostly they kept everyone on a level playing field. The defenders are basically fucked unless they have higher numbers, being that their hands are tied in the building rules, and they are REQUIRED, to make everything in such an obvious fashion that "Baby's first Roleplay" comes to mind. Not saying that huge crouch mazes of one way props should be a thing, but I am saying that you should be able to stash the button/keypad in a LOGICAL REALISTIC nearby location instead of basically next to the door. (Think all those movies where they flip a statue head to reveal a button to a secret room and such)
Maybe now that more of you are starting to get vocal about these issues, maybe something will be done. I'm not gonna hold my breath though, as complaining without acting seems to be the status quo.
And nice signature, I love seeing what the losers looked like before they got it handed to them. His quote is full of logical flaws. War is possible without lots of enemies, all it takes is to make your people believe those you wish war with are evil. Look at the damage 9/11 caused for all of Islam in America, based on lies.

I dealt with both situations in Mesa Apartments. In the first scenario, I just bribed PD to not search my house. The second time (The 911 call one) I had the police bring me the 911 caller and I "dealt" with him in my bathroom. Being underground means hiding and trying not to get caught. You don't need a bunker. Just be smarter than your opposition instead of just shooting every threat.
Also, as a note to everyone. Most of the time, if you are an asshole OOC and IC to most players or have a bad reputation, you're more likely to be targeted by asshole people who don't like you. (Trust me, I was one of those assholes on both sides). Just treat your opposition with respect and understand that there are better ways to stay hidden.
110% on that "asshole" theory. I was prime pickin's for a minute there. I've since changed my ways and a lot of heat died off. Complaining about it even in the slightest seems to amplify the likelihood of it happening again too. Just say GG, Well Played instead.

I used to be one of the testers on the original makers of ArmAIIILife before it got released. I had a lot of fun and I fully second that last statement, lmao. We had laws/crimes you could commit implemented that could last up to 1 hour of imprisonment (or sometimes even longer if you decided to kill a whole police team
like some do over here at Limelight and then still think it's ''normal'').
The only differences were: proper roleplay by COs within the correctional facility, many ways to try and break out or have your buddies/gang/organized crime family or group/prostitutes try and bust you out, and, as aforementioned, a proper correctional facility. An actual jail system with a control room, a LOT of cells and a yard attached to it to give the prisoners some free time during their imprisonment. Sometimes I think about going back on it, as I had a LOT of fun, but, it took away way too much time that I couldn't give them.
Here's a picture of a part of the full crimes list we had just before it got released.
I am thinking about placing a full list (including some extra ones) in a guide section on the forums as it might encourage people who like to do CriminalRP to do some more variated roleplay. Plus, some of these can definitely be done for some quality underground criminalRP. Also, these are only the letters A, B, C and D so far lol. I have 3 more pictures plus a text document.

Agreed. I used to play Island Life on ARMA 2. You used to get a maximum of an hour or so, and so crime was more surreptitious. You had to plan your bank robberies, which happened once a month, maximum. Other crimes were well planned, so that the Police wouldn't get you. Crime happened, but it was planned and had to fly under the radar.

Exactamundo. Some of those organized crimes were done REALLY well and it was hard, even for detectives, to figure out what the heck was going on, who was involved, and how they were executing it.
Law Enforcement was very diverse on it. I used to be a part of the SO until PD was returned. I had fun, but, as I said before, regular training exercizes and mandatory activity started becoming heavy on my time that I had available for it.
Back on the subject of Limelight however, I think it'd be amazing if, at some point, we would be able to move towards this. Of course, by that time, we'd be far, FAR, into SeriousRP and we would require a proper correctional facility, a Correctional Officer (''jail guard'') job, rules surrounding arrests/poor judgement on imprisonment sentences, a proper fine system (which is not THAT hard to make do in Garry's Mod) as currently I am doing my own little ticketing system, but I shouldn't have to do it like that, etc. etc. etc.
All in all; I hope Limelight will move towards full on SeriousRP at some point.
