Suppose a player wanted to block half the map, even if he asked he would be denied for the simple fact that he's blocking half of the map, even if there was valid RP behind it.

I'd say it's okay to do RPs like that as long as they have a means to still get through, as stated earlier have maybe a shaft or scaffold or even just part of the road blocked off, and maybe cones directing around it. You don't have to block off the entire area of the map, there's an event server for that.

It's good that admins like to bring immersive and unique events into regular and repeatable RP days, just as long as it REMAINS OPTIONAL.
Someone pay this man, well said.
I'm confused.

How has this turned from a single passage being blocked to whole areas of the map being blocked?
So it happens for 8 hours? So? be glad it wasn't for like a week. Most of you lot contra farm or make floating houses so why does it matter?

One day and everyone goes crazy over rocks.
All I am saying is people weren't complaining at all about the RP opportunities the dupe and "event" BlackDog set up created neither were the majority of people complaining about blocked passages. Lakehouses still had a very clear passage into them via US 64.

As to repeat Sours, I do agree. How has this turned from one small part of the map being blocked to half of the map?

the point is not whether they blocked the whole map or just one street. but rather the fact that it seems hypocritical and contradicting when we - players - tend to get warned about doing that and admins don't. it's as if they are free to do whatever satisfies their creativity/mood and we just have to watch them. Ok sure it gets people involved in an RP but admins cannot bypass the rule for the sake of their satisfaction...

The rules state:
Quote:6.2 - You require staff permission to build in areas you do not own (unless it’s outside the city, but not on roads), or the president’s permission

Adminstrative Staff do not frown or dislike any type of creativity. They simply ask for permission to build to keep it monitored and under control. I am sure some staff members have different opinions on the matter and it is up to them to choose.

Adminstrative Staff are not being hypocritical or contracending. It is the rules in which they have to follow much like any other player. The only difference being they don't truly have to request permission from anyone to do that kind of stunt. I do however know Adminstrative Staff do speak to each other about things that are being placed down. If you have a creative build or want to do some kind of event, I am certain the Staff wouldn't mind taking a look and seeing if the idea is suitable.
