Before I get shot for saying this I know this is based off America but why can't we have a bit of freedom in our roleplays?

And what about stuff like FBI, NCA they aren't always travelling in battle tanks all the time are they?

FBI SWAT Teams drive in marked vehicles or (in some cases) unmarked Black SUV's.

NCA doesn't have a SWAT Team I believe.

The point is the NCA still does undercover work and is armed as well which does raids, so my point still stands.

But the job says SWAT, so that is its default role. Special Weapons and Tactics. Let's stick to the Special Weapons and Tactics and not "They raid so they must be used as an example".

Also, if there is going to be a need to resupply, have a secondary vehicle with such abilities. SWAT are not necessarily marked (Definition of S.W.A.T: A special section of some law enforcement agencies trained and equipped to deal with especially dangerous or violent situations). In my honest opinion, if they are being misused report them to a higher up (their sergeant/president). Being able to use ELS on civilian vehicles only broadens what SWAT can RP.

If they are posing a threat to the integrity of your SWAT team, take action. We shouldn't restrict something because people are putting themselves into a disadvantage in some cases nor is it unrealistic to drive a civilian vehicle when you need to get to your target without being noticed.
Operations are generally not discreat and if you wish to do so, You are always able to just get the SUV that the government ALREADY has and paint it black. I don't understand you'd require a vehilce which still has lights to do the same operation. This would if you wanted to do it give mechanics more reason to roleplay to give S.W.A.T support with their ideals.

It's not the first time I see a SWAT officer driving a RV with lights on....

NOOOO
Exspecially for Swat it can be incredible Important to disguise themselves. Therefore unmarked vehicles of all kinds are needed.
This suggestion is just unrealisity and aims for unescessary compliaction.
In the US but whole europe not every department has their own barecat, and evnen if they do its not the only car they got at their disposal. Exspecialy in tense situations like high risk warrants or hostage situations swat wont show up in a bunch of marked vehicles waving their warrant papers and shouting for the suspect to please step out. No they rush in in civilian vehicles and try to acces the building and the suspect as fast as possible whilst doing as little damage as possible to all people involved.
Even the Audi your mentioned as a unrealisity vehicles falls withing that theme. Whilst it makes more sense to use pickup trucks, suvs and vans (for their better room, performance and the ability to (irl) equip them with armour) even sedans like mercedes and audis are used by swat units in many countrys (including the us) to approach silently or for eg. transport prisoners away froma scene.

eg. germany
In germany we tend to use mercedes and vw suvs (sometimes with armoured plating) to approach. Sedans like some mercedes or bmw cars are also fairly common though as they blend in perfeclty with traffic so our departments tend to carry away certain prisoners or other high risk individuals in civilian looking vehicles to keep their cover.
eg. US
You can frequently see unmarked vehicles in the us fleet. While they tend to use a lot of unmarked utility or compact vehicles for specialised branches such as certain traffic units, community policing, public relations, comissioning officers etc. they also tend to use em for gang units, SRU, PTS or just regular swat. You can find a whole lot of footage of swat officers using cars like the raptor or a family van to gain fast and secure acces to a criminals location
So 2 Reasons why i highly recommend we decline this suggestion:

1. It wont change anything. Those people a ELS equipped Box Truck into a scene will keep doing that except that the els is gone. The only option to avoid that is deleting hlaf of our car fleet.
2. Vehicles like the caravan, the gmc vans or the outdoorsman are prefectly disgusied and realisity swat vehicles. They are needed to keep rp interesting ( we all know about the now obsulete dodge charger unmarked, it wasnt reallya suprise considering the fact that it was litterarly the only car that could possibly contain an unmarked officer)
3. Fail RP. Fail RP will allwas be a thing. If you take away the ELS lights from a bad swat officer hell just drive the car without or swap it for a kamaz... there are plenty other jobs running on the same risk. SHould we ban firetrucks cause 2/10 drivers tend to kill people with em (1/2 most likely on purpouse)?

one last thing:
i think it was rocket that once eased out and ooc fight arguing that there is not that 1 right way to roleplay and that instead of critizsing our fellow members for not following our own style or belives regarding roleplay we could just try to give in like they would do to us.
And dam thats right. There is not the 1 way to roleplay. Sure there is fail rp, but using an unmarked vehicle for swat is definatly not fail rp but a different play style instead.
In Many countrys including large parts of the us this is a common (somtimes the only) practice.
And at the very last. It seems to make our Swat team more populat. Let the people have their toys, let them play. It doesnt cause any harm.

There are SWAT forces all over the world who can also act discretly. Driving in cars like Audi or Mercedes and even engage with plain clothes and kevlar vests. Removing this from SWAT will limit the roleplay potential.
Did a little more research after what said. God I'm fucking dumb.

Yea, it's realistic and I honestly don't know what I was thinking. Not to mention it limits the freedom to Rp.

Yeah, they can,

But why restrict SWAT to 3 vehicles when there are loads that have been added.

I rarely see SWAT in modified vehicles. Only in SWAT vans or tahoes. Custom vehicles are usually only used by private organizations.
I would say limit vehicles that you wouldn't see in a real life scenario like SWAT in a Nissan GTR, GMC Vandura, etc. I'd give a list if needed.

Tired of seeing the SWAT Sgt. driving an unmarked GTR. Looks (no offense to anyone) retarded.
