I believe a developer / admin once said that LL would rather create something themselves then buy something.
But stealing something off of the workshop and adapting it isn't really creating something themselves
if they say no just dab on them as they are just haters!

then you create something new.

We can also use the contributors we have to make said button model, sound, animation and code.

When did I ever say I should create something new? You're the one saying they should....

not sure if you are trying to be funny now but I meant that if they dont give permission to use the addon as a base for creation the devs/contributers can make something new.
I like the idea, but it feels like it would be a lot easier to simply use a command or door interaction for this.
/ring for example, or holding down the right mouse button while looking at the door.
Would work on every door (with the exception of governmental buildings of course) and would simply just work.

Where did we say we steal shit from the workshop?
Most of the time, I'll look at the workshop for inspiration and ideas, not for code. It's not hard to create a "press button, play sound" entity.

I know, but he was saying why don't they just take it from the workshop and adapt it from there; that is breaking steam workshop TOS

I'm sure I heard somewhere that taking someones content and then modifying it for your own use is against TOS

To be honest - It doesn't really matter at this point.
The developers and staff will most likely choose what is best for the server whether that be purchasing the script from that website, looking towards the Workshop for inspiration or yadder yadder or even making a brand new script in which they would be able to personalise and add new features too, which was one of the main factors
was talking about when it came to the Map installation.
The only reason I added a link is to give people the idea of what I had in mind. Suggestions are always nice which is what Gamerpro gave which was a free version and option for a suggestion which nobody can really object against to give input and ideas which is the whole point of the development team as they scale the projects to what we would enjoy more as we in a business perspective are their customers which is what every business requires to adapt to, which is their customers.
