It costs the US between 2-8 million annually (approximately 0.0001% of the overall budget) for such surgeries according to studies (https://edition.cnn.com/2017/07/26/polit...index.html). That's pennies for the US, put into perspective they reportedly spend 41.6 million on viagra.
Trump is full of shit as usual.
Well, if I were an American I would rather see those 2-8 million go to something else than someones identity crisis/mental illness. They are using the system. Remember that most of the LBTQ-community are leftists who oppose armys and such so why the hell would they join the military?
The money is more well spent on Viagra than on these transgender cucks.
This is a joke right? I don't think you actually give a damn about the costs, you just wanna stick it to the left side and restrict the rights of LGBT people.
It's not rescriting rights, we literally do not have the funds to support surgery, and the medication they require. As SourLemon said, " Person joins the military, speak with PA and say they wish to change gender, inform commander. They then go through the process, the entire time they are undergoing hormone treatment and sex change operations they are on a medical profile which prohibits them from doing anything military wise, they cannot deploy, that cannot do PT, they are basically committing all their time in the military into getting the sex change. By the time they are done, they are going to be done with their term in service, and can get out with a cost free sex change while serving no purpose in the military whatsoever."
Sure, we have a huge budget, but that doesn't mean anything when we're paying countries billions to have bases in them to
protect them, to include the fact that we are still upgrading to new equipment and tech, there just simply isn't enough money to give to people whom want to change genders, and quite frankly, they're opposed to military, so why join for any reason other than to get a free surgery?
Finally, as Reebs pointed out on another thread,
"It's only fair.
Persons with severe allergies such as myself (yes, I have a severe peanut allergy) are permanently disqualified from Military Service and are ineligible for any draft.
Transgender persons are barred for the same reason I am, the Military simply does not have the capacity to have transgenders serve. If one were to require immediate medical attention for something regarding their transgender status, it would be impossible to provide the needed treatment to them in the field. The same goes for Allergies, such as mine, that require the injection of epinephrine immediately after ingestion. It would simply be more hassle than it's worth." This is NOT an attack on the LGBTQ cult or whatever you'd llike to call it, it's just simply we cannot afford the cost of the pills and the surgery when we could be putting it forward to something more important, like new tech, or better equipment for those who actually go out and deploy.
Oh, I'd also like to point out that the pentigon and the president tried to add a policy disallowing transgenders from using the military to pay for their surgery and pills, but the house blocked it, thus, this was the only way to go thanks to the dems and libs in Congress.

Having transgenders representing the US military is not something we want, either, we could be seen as weak to foreign countries that are strict on transgender and gay rights.
