What about that?

Once they reach 4 6 or hours in the job, they may be a Police Officers.

Once they reach 8 18 or 20 hours in the Police Officer job, they can be the Police Sergeant.
Personally i would say Police Sergeant should be 50 hours, due to the responseablitiy that comes with it and those sergeants that don't know how to accept warrants.

It's a good goal to build up to, but as this is a slow moving huge potentional to change our government, we can't dive in for a 50 hour limit. That's one way fro most new players to go "fuck that". They want to lead and they want to do it soon, not in a week.

Personally I think all administrative jobs (Pres, VP, Sgt, SWAT Sgt) are the hardest and most abusable one, and therefore should require an application. But that's a start. And the only way you're going to learn how to lead is by obeying.

Have police cadet job and have an ingame application sort of thing with ~10 questions such as:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Somebody has a knife infront of you, the start running towards you. Do you:

A) Shoot them.
B) Tase them.
C) Hit them back with an ASP Baton.

^ An example of one question.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If the player gets x amount correct (I'd suggest atleast 7 or 8) they're allowed out on patrol as a cadet. If not, they have to wait x amount of minutes before resitting the test. We could also include hand books with all the information required, i'd be happy to help write something with the answers to the questions hidden inside.

The questions wouldn't be really hard to answer, but they'd need to think about how they should answer them. This way, we won't get people who think you should be shot for driving through a red light in the police force and only people who really want to roleplay as a police officer will pass through the ranks.
+support, this seems like a good idea which would encourage new players to learn their roles a bit better too.
what he said ^

Sounds good +support

though I think once you reach 4 hours you should get locked out of the cadet job because there's no reason for you to be one and save the space for new players
