Well you say that but one day it could be the high/drink driver that crashes into you and you loose a leg.

Things like drugs need to be regulated

Smoking marijuana is actually more likely to make people drive carefully therefore being high is generally an invalid reason for causing an accident.

Yeah lol. If someone's driving way under the speedlimit, it's either a grandma or a dude with the munchies on the way to white castle

Personal experience: driving on anything while high is fucking terrifying. 30mph is 30mph too much for most high people.

EDIT: Not the person you replied to, but still gonna help him out with a pretty reliable reference on ncbi: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2722956/

EDIT2: Accidents still happen on weed btw, definitely mainly caused by the slight clumsiness you get if you're too high.
ye if ur a pussyxd
Looks like I have really posted something cringy and stupid to this thread.

Anyway, I don't really have any opinion on drugs. Tasting different alcohol drinks from different countries, etc might be an interesting hobby tho.
I got a lot to say, but I'll keep it simple.

Most drugs are harmful to you in one way or another, medically speaking. Taking ibuprophen on a regular basis has recently been discovered to be harmful by medical journal. Some "drugs" aren't harmful, again proven by medical journal, yet remain illegal.

You shouldn't do shit that you know will hurt you, but that's your choice. That being said, I don't feel very bad for people whom get addicted / die from prolonged use. Again they made the choice. Only exception is forced experiences, which should be classified as criminal.

I don't think you have a very good grasp of addiction, or if you're even capable of understanding addiction. Heroin will become a part of your basic human needs, above water, sleep and sex. It becomes vital.

Imagine that you're out in the dry and warm desert, carrying with you no water, food or protection from the glaring sun. Right now, water is literally more important for you than having all limbs or organs - you'd kill for water.

A heroin addiction is like that. An absolute necessity for your life. And in some cases, it's worse.

The far majority of people do not choose addiction. It's a thing you need to experience to figure out. Spewing such a harsh and immoral conjecture does not benefit anyone, and sure as hell makes you come off as a moron. I assume you didn't have any malicious intent.

Again, you are in no position to express opinions about subjects you have no experience or education on.

EDIT: Ibuprofen has always been known to have negative side effects...

I totally don't know anything about addiction nor anything else and cannot express my opinions because you said so.

I was never a trained medical professional or anything, cause you said so.

Make me laugh and at the same time just give up. Your story was great, but the key point of my story is that they made the choice to enter into that situation. No one picks up heroin and says "this is good for me" these days. People aren't that blind to reality. I don't feel bad for what happens to them because they choose and have access to the research to make a sound decision. If I wanted to jump in a volcano, you gonna feel bad for me? It's not like Obama, Trump, Government, Politics, God, made me do it. I chose to do it.

not necessarily saying youre wrong but check out reddit.com/r/opiates if you have spare time

a lot of them start with something small and believe they can geniunely keep up that small habit without getting addicted. i understand you think it's their fault, and it is. the same way you or i have made mistakes, people do stupid shit all the time. i dont think its justified to say that people who made a mistake deserve a lifetime of addiction or deserve long-term imprisonment. obviously taking opiates recreationally isn't a smart idea, but i personally dont think that just because they wanted to try something out and couldn't stop means that they deserve what happened to them. i think you may change your views if you look at all the personal experiences. a lot of the people posting there started their addiction while being members of /r/opiates, so if you look at their post history, you'll often see them posting stuff like "Trying <x> for the first time" then youll see them saying they'll only do it a few times a month, then maybe once a week, and you know how the rest goes.

Drugs are bad. People do incredible stupid things once high in my experience. I've seen high shoplifters try to hide items in their jacket despite the item being a extremely large cardboard box. He proceeded to walk out thinking he got away with it. So anyone who thinks that 'weed makes people more careful' is a complete and utter brain dead in my personal opinion.

Thank you for your input.

What? We know from hundreds upon hundreds of studies that a wide array of psychedelics can work wonders as an assisting tool in therapy, does that make them bad? Drugs are not inherently bad, nor good. They are simply what you make of them, and how you use them. Hell, even methamphetamine has been used for ADHD treatment back in the day, and is still used for narcolepsy or severe cases of ADHD!

Yes, drugs can turn bad if you fail to use the substance in a proper way. If you're unaware of what you're doing, a trip can turn bad. In most cases, one will just feel extreme panic or distress until the trip subsides. You are definitely not going to think you're orange juice and constantly worry about someone drinking you, nor are you going to think someone else is an orange and that your mission in your 'dreamworld' is to squash this orange.

Pretty ridiculous.

Quote:People do incredible stupid things once high in my experience.

I don't think you have the experience needed to wrap your head around the concept of what drugs are. You told us an anecdote of a man, clearly not being of well mental health. Sounds more like an addict on their waking third day of a meth binge.

Quote:So anyone who thinks that 'weed makes people more careful' is a complete and utter brain dead in my personal opinion.

You've clearly never consumed cannabis. As any other cannabis user will say, weed does not make you 'stupid' in the way that you'd try to hide an oversized cardboard box in your jacket. Unlike alcohol, you won't run around and do absolutely dumb shit, shout in the streets, most likely have a lot of fun but ultimately you end up vomiting in trashcans.
In turn, say you get too high. You're gonna be lying on the sofa zooming through space, not endangering anyone nor yourself, be really hungry, laugh a lot, think in some pretty abstract ways, and forget that short-term memory itself exists (obviously without taking in consideration a potential panic attack, which can be quite scary while high, but often very rare and much dependent on your mood as a user. For most users of cannabis, 'severe' panic attacks are a one-time occurrence.)

Bringing up alcohol in this discussion is quite cliché, but it's to illustrate my point in a better way. Drugs play a major part in the foundation of your life. Maybe you exist solely because your momma and dadda had a lil' too much wine.

You should open yourself up a bit more to what real life is. Everything isn't just black on white or defined by the boundaries of the law.

They didn't make a choice to enter the addiction. Peer-pressure is still a thing, and so is curiosity. The few heroin addicts I've known started off with the mentality that they could use the opioids once a month without getting addicted.

I mean, when you already have an addictive personality, why not use the leftover Vicodin your doctor gave you for your knee pain. That's not gonna harm.

You start off being psychologically in control, but as the drug latches itself onto your brain, you spiral down a deep hole of hell, while privileged people such as yourself have the audacity to boast about your insensitive mentalities formed on the belief that 'you choose your own life'. A belief that is absolute bullshit.

Life just isn't fair. You can't change the situation, but you can at least be a more kind and tolerant person in honor of the people who might not be as fortunate as you.
