Perhaps not only allow for SWAT use but also as a sort of heavier protection for police in times of lockdowns and/or other extreme scenarios that allow them to equip it via their cruisers?

If I am to even be honest - I have no idea what happened to the iconic S.W.A.T Sergeant Uniform. :l
