It's possible. Although Im had some minor texture related problems upon joining, I'll download a v4b1 material pack or something for that though.

Make sure you have CSS & HL2 content installed & mounted.

I already have them mounted.

I've noticed a pattern.
I can't join when there is high traffic on the server aka when there are alot of people on.

Paging as this could be network related.

Could you get me a speedtest please?

I Believe the problems have been resolved for me, unknown as to what reason.

How strange, okay. If it happens again, let me or another Teacher know and we'll reopen this for you.
