[Guide] Roleplaying as a Firefighter - Lord Octagon - Aug 11, 2015 Roleplaying as a Firefighter A guide for those who wish to properly roleplay the job of a firefighter. Assuming you have already selected the Fireman job in the F1 Menu it's time to get started! Fire Engine A firefighter's noble steed, it's primary purposes include transporting firefighters to an incident scene and storing extra supplies (see further down). In order to purchase one of these you'll need to revisit the F1 Menu and in the Market Tab there will be a section titled Government Vehicles, under here will be a Fire Engine. Click Buy, $1000 will disappear from your in-game wallet but it is worth it! To spawn it go back to your Inventory and click Use Do /vcmod to check/edit your bind for lights and such. Fire Axe It has a pick-shaped pointed poll (area of the head opposite the cutting edge). It is often decorated in vivid colours to make it easily visible during an emergency. Its primary use is for breaking down doors. Fire Extinguisher A portable device that discharges a jet of water, foam, gas, or other material to extinguish a fire. Tip: Try RPing different types of fire extinguishers. I.e if someone's TV is on fire use a CO[sub]2[/sub] type. Responsibilities The role of a firefighter covers a diverse range of tasks, some you'll do every day while others are less frequent. They include: Responding immediately and safely to emergency calls and requests for assistance; attending emergency incidents including fires, road accidents, floods, terrorist incidents, spillages of dangerous substances, and rail and air crashes; rescuing trapped people and animals; minimising distress and suffering, including giving first aid before ambulance crews arrive; safeguarding your own and other people's personal safety at all times; cleaning up and checking the site after dealing with an incident; taking time to become familiar with local streets, roads and buildings so you can respond to emergency calls with speed and efficiency; inspecting and maintaining the appliance (fire engine) and its equipment, assisting in testing fire hydrants and checking emergency water supplies; undertaking drills and physical training and taking part in training on techniques, use of equipment and related matters; maintaining the level of physical fitness necessary to carry out all the duties of a firefighter; educating and informing the public to promote fire safety by giving talks in schools and to local organisations, as well as home visits to offer advice, etc; maintaining links with the local community.
