change how /panic works - Decay - Jan 13, 2025 Can we impliment a 5 second activation for /panic? everybody key binds it and its impossible to get away with something as a criminal. I dosent make sense that a police officer walks around with his finger on that button no matter what situation hes in. This way criminals can actually get away with stuff without a war breaking out on the server. /panic makes the government really over powered and limits crime RP For the government enjoyers out there, im asking you to set aside your bias and realise how overpowered this actually is. RE: change how /panic works - Emc2 - Jan 13, 2025 +Support I think in reality it would take a person some time to reach a panic butto so this would definitely help RPing as a criminal RE: change how /panic works - Nudel - Jan 13, 2025 Despite the fact that I predominantly play government positions, I do support a change. When using /panic there should be a /it text, similar to the handcuffing one, showing that the officer is attempting to push his panic button which will activate within x-amount (3, 4?) of seconds. +support RE: change how /panic works - Vadar - Jan 14, 2025 +Support Timer seems to be realistic as mentioned, an officer would require time to hit an alarm. Should be an easy one to implement RE: change how /panic works - Zaidplays - Jan 14, 2025 +support, far too easy for police to use n just unrealistic RE: change how /panic works - Doctor Internet - Jan 15, 2025 Do we also need to implement this for /backup and /radio? Might be worth hanging fire and seeing. It would suck losing real-time radio but if people take the piss and just reinvent /panic then it might be needed RE: change how /panic works - Doctor Internet - Jan 15, 2025 (Jan 15, 2025, 03:32 PM)Montyfatcat Wrote:(Jan 15, 2025, 03:14 PM)Doctor Internet Wrote: Do we also need to implement this for /backup and /radio? Aye, because there's:
Whole load of stuff we need to consider. RE: change how /panic works - Taylor - Jan 15, 2025 +Support BUT, 5 seconds would be way too long, in real life it would take 1, maybe 2, seconds to activate the panic alarm on a radio. RE: change how /panic works - Nacreas - Jan 15, 2025 It would be good if we could reset the panic alarm, my understanding is that the emergency button in real life keeps you on an emergency status when transmitting the radio after an audible alarm is played and your location made available. Perhaps we could have /panic work only once, if you use the voice radio or text radio, you have (URGENT) next to the message or an icon on the voice visualiser highlighting the need for assistance. Like when players put on a suit, perhaps you should have to /reset and stand still for ten seconds before you can /panic again. If you were under FearRp the radio wouldn’t be an issue as it couldn’t be used, the location would only be transmitted once unless the player used /reset when safe to do so, which makes it a bit fairer too. We already have this, at least for the text radio. People that play gov usually do not know each other, its open for anyone to join so there are already barriers to communication. Its also entirely possible to just not create a situation around gov players. Not to mention IRL it is also just a button you press, same as a keyband. Its the same, the balance already exists.
