No-collide for vehicle welding - Montyfatcat - Mar 12, 2020

Idea: Allow players to no-collide their props with their vehicles at 25 REPs (This can change with whenever the REP count needed for vehicle welding does).

Why?: The vehicle welding system is quite clunky at the moment due to the ungainly shapes of many useful props, some have extremely long backs whilst others annoyingly hover half a hammer unit out. Allowing no-collide between vehicles would mean that people could use the props more creatively than the collisions would allow for.

If you use the precision tool theres an option that you can use that only allows collisions with players, so the props wont hit or collide with the car

Only the weld tool works if you're not staff

Nope, it works for everyone. You take the precision tool and tick the box saying "only collide with players".

Right but what if you only want it to not collide with the vehicle? For example if you add a significantly sized modification or armour plating?

even if its no-collided it still reflects bullets

i guess you could turn off the no-collision after youve got it into place

Nocolliding your vehicle (With the nocollide tool) makes you able to drive through props, if i understood your suggestions correctly. Theoretically you could enter bases with that, that are made up of props.

No matter your reps, personally i think this shouldn’t be allowed.
