Generation Kill - Markus - Feb 11, 2020

I have just finished watching the mini-series Generation Kill.
It is based on the account of a reporter who was embedded with The 1st Recon Marines
who spearheaded the invasion of Iraq in 2003 and I must say that this was truly a brutal,
honest (according to other marines), impartial,
but most of all phenomenal show and after having finished it, I wholly recommend it to
anyone who likes war movies or movies that make you think, but also entertain.

It is available on HBO GO, or you can just download it.

Word of advice: don't expect a lot of action, heroics or pro/anti-war propaganda.

I enjoyed it. But it does drag a bit in the later areas of the show. I get what they were going fir and they did a great job. Just felt like I got it near the end.

GK's fucking brilliant - really shows the realities of war I think, it's not just a bunch of action heroes going and attacking the bad guys
